Still recovering from the loss of her love Jacek, Arlyn ventures out into the treacherous world that is Gethis. She battles pirates, men who would possess her, and the mysterious and insidious “dizzy disease” Mal de Debarquement, which the locals in Northern Mida call “the disembarking disease.” How is she supposed to fight for those who cannot protect themselves when she can barely walk?
