Rome is for lovers.

Passionate, intense, bold lovers.

I’m a twenty-one-year-old virgin and I’m enamored with Lorenzo Barca.

He’s an arrogant, unapologetic, sexy as sin, Italian race car driver who always gets what he wants.

And he wants me underneath him. Or, at the very least, in the passenger seat of his Maserati.

Unrelenting, Lorenzo crushes my excuses to remain detached from everything he makes me feel.

Instead, I fall in love — in a passionate, intense, bold kind of way.

Lorenzo ruins it by discovering a secret that leads us down a dark, twisted, and dangerous path.

If all roads lead to Rome, then I need an exit strategy.

L. C. Son has the life she’s always imagined and more. A wife to one and mom to three kids and a very regal Beagle, she would say she is living a life full of awesomeness!

Growing up, she spent hours reading comic books she “borrowed” from her older brother which inspired her love for heroes and all things fantasy and paranormal. Much like the characters she adored, she lives a duplicitous life. By day she works tirelessly to champion the employment of persons with severe disabilities. By night she puts on her wife-mom cape, sharing with her husband at their church and juggling their kid’s very active schedules.

Writing has always come second nature to her and a skill she uses in her professional career. Beautiful Nightmare is her first published work and she’s thrilled to finally bring to life the characters that have lived in the creative corners of her mind. Presently, she’s working on Book Two of the series and developing a chick-flick-novella

Detour to Paradise

Detour to Paradise
by River Ames
Genre: Sweet Contemporary Romance
Lucas Rockworth—a hard-driving force of nature has been ordered by his doctor to take some time off and get his blood pressure under control. You would think buying a cabin in the natural splendor known as Gray Horse Lake, Idaho, would do the trick. All that mountain greenery, crystal blue lakes and rivers, and nature-run-amok had to be exactly what the doctor had ordered.
Enter Sarah Burke…
The innocently enticing young entrepreneur who’s opening an equestrian camp for children with handicaps.
Her initial impression of him is clearly wrong. For some reason, known to the reader but unknown to him, Sarah mistakenly believes that Lucas Rockworth is a shy, sensitive man. After having to deal a lifetime with a dominating older brother and controlling father, she finds these traits very appealing.
Her recent breakup with someone who could best be described as a bully has Sarah longing for a kinder, gentler man in her life.
Lucas tells himself that, since he makes his living as a general contractor, he has the hands-on experience to make himself into anything Miss Sarah Burke is looking for.
It shouldn’t be that great a stretch to become a modern, sensitive kind of guy, should it? She wants Mr. Rogers… Well, darn, he can manage that for the short time he’s in Idaho.
How hard can it be to tame his darker, more cynical side?
As for Sarah Burke? She thinks she’s met a real life version of Mr. Rogers. But, the reader knows its Rambo who’s come a’courting.
Would the real Lucas Rockworth care to step forward?
River Ames spent the first eighteen years of her life in Southern California. Here is a partial list of some of the cities in which she lived: Pasadena, South Pasadena, Duarte, El Monte, Arcadia La Puente, Lomita, West Covina, Pacifica, Santa Monica, Palmdale, and Hacienda Heights. In some of those cities, she lived at six different addresses. In the city of La Puente, River’s family lived in four different houses on the same street. The non-glamorous reason for all the moves was habitual eviction necessitated for non-payment of rent. It was an interesting way to grow up.
River attended twenty-six different elementary schools, two different junior high schools and four different high schools. In one elementary school, she was a student for only three days.
Perhaps, because she was so frequently identified as the “new girl,” the pattern of River being an observer instead of a participant in the interactions going on around her seemed a logical fit for her personality.
When she was thirteen, River read “Gone with the Wind.” She skipped three days of school in order to finish the book in one sitting. Disappointed in Rhett for “not giving a damn,” River wrote her own sequel–in long hand, on three-hole punch, notebook paper. The opening line? “Tomorrow dawned bright and fair.” In less than fifty pages, Scarlett had been transformed into Jane Eyre and Rhett had fallen in love with her all over again.
After Southern California, River has spent the next part of her life living in the semi-rural town of Idaho Falls, Idaho. She is a graduate of Idaho State University, majoring in Health Education Sciences and Addiction Counseling. She’s worked the past ten years at a Behavioral Health Center where she assisted children, teenagers, and adults committed in a 24/7 secured facility because of mental health challenges they are experiencing.
River’s books celebrate the good-natured humor that lays at the heart of most of our human predicaments. The conflicts are significant, yet it is her characters and their quirky (yet somehow universally relatable) thoughts, words, and choices that reflect a light-hearted peek into a world we wish was real. The amazing thing is that these worlds are real to readers for the time they visit there.
Readers have said: “In a River Ames book, one minute I’m laughing out loud, and the next I have a lump in my throat.”
River is currently readying a historical novel, “Gideon’s Justice.” This three-part novel is Book I in a three volume western series set in the Colorado Territory.

Offender by Author Michael Brooks

Since a young age Michael Brooks has been told he was best at making things up. If it wasn’t concocting a lie to get out of trouble, it was creating wild tales about aliens abducting cows from the barn, or stories of ghosts haunting the woods that surrounded their farmhouse in Missouri. Now he’s all grown up, earned a degree in creative writing, and has turned his passion for “making things up” into a profession..
He lives in Utah with his beautiful wife, their five amazing kiddos, four crazy chicken, too many fish to count, an impressive wand collection, and one or two invisible dragons. He also writes and illustrates stories for younger readers under the name Mikey Brooks. You can find more about him and his other books at www.mikeybrooks.com.

MURDER MADE HIM A PRISONER. TRUTH CAN SET HIM FREE.
In a distant  future, all criminals of violent crimes are sentenced to life in the  Arena where they must battle against both man and beast in a fight to  the death.

When sixteen-year-old Calvin Sawyer is wrongly  convicted of his father’s murder, his charmed life as the son of a  senator is changed forever. He’s stripped of his rights, his humanity,  even his name. Now as the property of the Arena, offender CS4521 must  learn to fight in the colosseum. It’s kill or be killed.
See what people are saying about the book

“Murder, friendship, and forbidden romance in a tech-heavy futuristic world. Offender is everything we love about dystopian literature.”
—Rebecca Rode,  USA Today bestselling author of the Numbers Game Trilogy.

Offender gripped me on the first page and didn’t let go until the last line. Sharp and emotional writing combined with a hero you can’t help but cheer on. It will keep you turning pages with anticipation. Can’t wait for the next installment!”

“I didn’t kill my father,” I say. “I didn’t kill him, and I want out.”
Her lips curve up in that strange smile she gave me when we first met. “I thought you understood the way things work around here, CS4521. You are an offender. You do not have the right to want anything.”
“Didn’t you hear me? I said I didn’t kill my father. Someone else did. You need to let me out so I can figure out who did it and stop them before they kill someone else.”
“CS4521, you do not—”
“Calvin! My name is Calvin!”
“No. You do not have a name, you have an identification code. You are an offender. You have no allegiance. No rights. No hope. You lost that the second you arrived here. You want out? Offenders have only one way out of the Arena.”
She motions to the guards, and they all raise their batons, ready to strike. My hands shake, but I stand tall, just the way my father stood when facing the people of Primus. Why won’t she listen? Why won’t anyone listen? I know behind each mask is a human—someone with emotions, with life. Why can’t they see me the same way? “You can kill me, but know you’ll be killing an innocent man.”
Katherine’s smirk turns into a full-blown smile. Her teeth are flawlessly white against her blood-red lips. “Don’t you think I already know that?”
Time seems to stop for a moment as her words seep into my mind. Then my vision is blackened by the guards’ blows. I see a flash of the director’s smile, like a Cheshire cat floating in the dark, before I sink to the ground. Sparks of light fire behind my eyes, and I feel myself shutting down, turning numb. But one thought surfaces before I go to sleep … I am innocent.
“I’m sorry. I should’ve told you before, but you asked me out, and I really wanted to be with you.” She pauses and the orange sky glints in her moist eyes. “I don’t want you to get into trouble.”
I take her hand and hold it tightly in mine. “You think I care about that? Screw the edict.”
“Cal, you could get in trouble. Your father—”
“My father doesn’t care what I do. I hardly ever see him to begin with. What I do care about is you.” I cup her jaw with my free hand and pull her in close. This time she doesn’t pull away. Our lips connect, and a flood of emotions barrels through me.

The Red Church

Title: The Crane Diaries: The Red Church
Author: Apryl Baker
Genre: NA Horror/Paranormal
Cover Designer: Deranged Doctor Design
Publication Date: July 2nd, 2019
Hosted by: Lady Amber’s PR
Blurb:
In the swamps of New Orleans sits an old church.
Its history is steeped in blood and death.
For over a century, this abandoned church has inspired fear, and the rumors of the creatures that inhabit it have kept the locals away.
The church has been sold, but work on the property has stalled. Centuries-old fears resurface when accidents start to befall the construction crews and ghosts are seen wandering the derelict stone building. No one dares go back until the property has been cleansed.
The Hathaway Foundation is hired to rid the property of ghosts so that work can begin again, only Emma Crane soon discovers it’s not the ghosts they have to fear, but something far more evil.
There was a reason the church was abandoned, a reason a powerful protection spell was put around the property, and a reason everyone from her father’s priest to Silas, her demonic grandfather, is warning her to stay away.
But now that she’s discovered what roams the halls, she can’t walk away. She can’t be responsible for innocents dying when she might have prevented it.
She’ll gather her team and go up against something she thought existed only in books and movies, something even the hunters in the area fear—a primordial evil, a creature that spawned the first vampires.
But can she stop the creature before it’s too late, before its family destroys hers?
 So who am I?
Well, I’m the crazy girl with an imagination that never shuts up. I LOVE scary movies. My friends laugh at me when I scare myself watching them and tell me to stop watching them, but who doesn’t love to get scared? I grew up in a small town nestled in the southern mountains of West Virginia where I spent days roaming around in the woods, climbing trees, and causing general mayhem. Nights I would stay up reading Nancy Drew by flashlight under the covers until my parents yelled at me to go to sleep.
Now, I live in a small town in West Virginia where I entertain my niece and nephew and watch the cats get teased by the birds and laugh myself silly when they swoop down and then dive back up just out of reach. The cats start yelling something fierce…lol.
I love books, I love writing books, and I love entertaining people with my silly stories.
