Caelum Ranald ran his love life like fire-ground tactics: pull a line, extinguish the flames, and move out. No rekindles.

His calculations were off the night he met Mina. She gave him exactly what he desired but left him begging for more—not the usual deal for this level-headed Aquarius.

Ximena De Luca craved independence. She made sure everything in her world brought her goals to the surface. What she miscalculated in her plan was meeting a man who would change her life forever.

About Maggie Jane Schuler

Genre: Contemporary Romance

I’m a teacher by day, author by night, 24 hour a day mother of 3, and wife of 25 years,  to my long time Mr. I’m a HUGE baseball fan. We are blessed with 5 Major League Baseball teams in our state. My boys played baseball up until college. The oldest switched to playing rugby in college, and the middle child had to back down last year because he injured his pitching hand playing a pickup game of basketball at college.

I was gently coaxed into writing a piece during the National November Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) by no other than my favorite superheroine’s creator. He, however, started a little offshoot called NaNoSmutWriMo to get folks writing and creating. I was in the middle of completing another work at the time, which went to the back burner. I simply could not refuse the challenge he tossed my way either. My competitive nature kicked in, and I wasn’t going to be publicly shamed. I mean who backs down to a public challenge and a once in a lifetime chance to let it all come together.

It was here, through NaNoSmutWriMo, that Jenna and Chase, from Resurrection, were born. November 2016 was a long haul.

I had to pace myself much like a good pitcher in baseball. I often found myself at the end of an inning with two outs and runners on base, looking for those strikeout moments to grab my audience with. Other times, I lost the battle; a runner scored, and I had to go back to the playbook on a scene. But through it all, much like Jenna and Chase, the Phoenix rose from the ashes, and now they are my first released book baby.
