After escaping her past, Kate builds her life around a single purpose: staying hidden. But when the unexpected threatens to unravel her tightly kept secrets, her will to remain alone falters.

Kate ran, planning to leave behind a shell of a life, giving herself strict rules to live by in order to keep the past hidden. But these rules have her trading one prison for another.

Then Kai sneaks into her life, shoving through her shields, getting her to break every one of her rules. An unexpected surprise threatens to unravel her secrets and strip away the control she fought so hard for. But she embraces it, diving into the unknown with Kai.

When her past catches up with her, she battles to keep those she has come to love protected, refusing to relent the strength she found within. But when stuck in a place she never wants to return to and with no chance of escape, she fears losing everything she’s allowed herself to cherish.

I thumped to the ground on the other side of the fence, steadying myself just before I toppled over. The familiar damp, mucky scent of the creek hit me right before I got to it. My pace didn’t slow even after I ran over the worn log that was my bridge to get across the creek, which was still part of our property, only outside the fence. Then I was off for the highway, leaving the luxurious plantation behind me. No more would I follow their rules. No more would I dress up for Mother’s popularity contests. No more would I allow them to decide my fate.
My fate would be my own.
Delia was parked at the edge of our property in her station wagon Volvo, just as she had promised. The Rankin’s Movin’ On assaulted my eardrums when I opened the door. My heart squeezed in my chest, tears pricking at my eyes. But I shoved all fear away when I climbed in that front seat. Delia had a lit cigarette held out toward me the second I had the door shut.
“Ready, sha?” she asked as I took a long drag of that Joe, nerves and excitement thrumming through my veins.
“Damn right, I’m ready!”
We screamed in excitement when she squealed away from my life trap. “I got an entire album made up for this getaway.” She wagged her dark brows at me, her springy brown hair bouncing as she wiggled to the beat of the song.
We danced and sang, even while tension grew in my chest as the border of the state came closer and closer.
Her gaze jumped between my eyes and lips, eyes and lips. My blood boiled. I was going to devour her. But I gritted my teeth to keep from doing so. I’d already gone to her over and over, made every move. It was about time she did the moving.
And she did.
Leaning over the armrest, she brushed her soft lips over mine. The sharp breath I sucked in couldn’t be stopped. Blood rushed through my veins, my pulse pounding in my ears. I wanted to gobble her up but again stayed my hand. She pulled back slightly, and I bit my cheek to keep from grabbing that braid and crushing my mouth back to hers.
“Oh, and I forgot to add, no more being a jackass,” she murmured against my lips, and my heart sang.
I fucking adored her.
I chuckled darkly, muttering, “Now that’s one thing I cannot abide,” before snaking that braid around my hand and brushing my lips against hers.

Charyse Allan is an avid reader but didn’t become one until high school. This is also when she realized her passion for writing; however, it wasn’t until a couple of years into her marriage that she tried her hand at writing a novel.

She grew up in Arizona, dancing at her mom’s studio and riding horses at her dad’s house. She’s a jack of many trades, having been a pastry chef, line cook, server and secretary, but is now living her dream as a writer.

She published her first novel in 2014 and has published four others since. She is working toward her BA in Professional Writing through GCU. Now married to her best friend/high school sweetheart, they live in the sweltering heat of Arizona raising their four kiddos and three Goldens. She still enjoys baking the occasional dessert for close friends and family. She’s a bookaholic and chocoholic; her vices keep her sane, but YAH keeps her patient.

Matthias Harthorn is drowning. For years he’s hidden his pain by hurting the one person who should have been able to rely on him—his younger brother, Jameson. Years of guilt, regret, and confusion build up until he’s barely able to get through the day sober.

Then one night a handsome stranger comes along and offers him a reprieve from it all. Making him question everything he thought he knew.

Neil Denning is the last man Matthias should be spending time with. Not only do his dark, piercing eyes see things that they shouldn’t—things that no one has before—but his connection to Jameson makes their budding friendship all the more off-limits. Yet no matter what the excuse, Neil doesn’t let Matthias get away with anything, forcing him to address his problems. Soon its not just Neil’s calm and matter of fact attitude that has Matthias ensnared.

With every touch and laugh shared together they grow closer. Until the door to Matthias’ ugly past swings back open, forcing him to deal with emotions and memories long since buried, in order to finally be happy. But the path that leads to healing will force Matthias to be honest with not only himself and Neil, but also the brother he so callously threw away. He’ll need to choose between letting go and living open or lose everything he’s come to care about.

Truth seeker. Promise keeper. Guarded heart.

By day, Jonah St. John is a criminal analyst for the Georgia Bureau of Investigations. By night, he produces Sinister in Savannah, an investigative podcast, with his two best friends. Jonah’s life revolves around three principles: a man’s word is his oath, friendships are priceless gifts, and love is for other people.

When the Sinister in Savannah team delves into the thirty-eight-year-old murder of a drag queen, they quickly discover that the story doesn’t end with the alleged killer’s confession in 1995. Continuing the investigation could have fatal consequences for Jonah and everyone he holds dear, including his irresistible intern.

To love is to lose: a lesson Jonah has learned the hard way. For a decade, he has embraced solitude as his penance for a past mistake. Then came Avery Bradford, a man whose warmth and sunshine infuses Jonah’s battered soul and challenges his resistance. Over the past eight months, Jonah has soared closer and closer to Avery’s flame until the thing he’s feared the most becomes the one he can’t live without.

The chill of danger merges with the heat of desire, forming a deadly superstorm. Will Jonah seek shelter or ride the lightning?

“What happened to your flowers?” Jonah suddenly asked, opening the can of worms he’d vowed to leave alone. Avery only gaped at him unblinkingly. Who could blame him? The question had come out of nowhere. “My flowers?” “The ones Romeo brought you. I caught you making heart eyes at them every time I stepped out of my office yesterday.” “Don’t be ridiculous,” Avery scoffed. “I took them to my grandmother.” Of all the possible things Avery could’ve said, Jonah hadn’t been expecting this one. “Why?” Avery released a deep sigh. “I told you he wasn’t the guy for me.” It was Jonah’s turn to just stare. “Here was this handsome, successful guy who seemed to be interested in me, but I felt…nothing. No spark.” Jonah snorted, and Avery scowled. “What the hell is that supposed to mean?” Avery asked. “No spark?” Jonah asked. “I’d hate to see how you return from a lunch date when you do feel chemistry with a man.” Avery stiffened in his chair. “What are you talking about?” “Come on, Avery. Flushed cheeks and swollen lips. I recognize the signs of someone who has been thoroughly kissed…or more.” “You th-th-thought I… that we…” Avery stammered. He swallowed hard and briefly closed his eyes. “You’re an idiot, Jonah. My pink cheeks and puffy lips were a result of a medical condition.” Jonah raised a brow. “Is that what they’re calling it these days?” “I had an allergic reaction to my lunch, asshole,” Avery practically shouted. “I didn’t see the little bites of heaven in my salad until it was too late.” “Little bites of heaven?” “Avocado,” Avery said. “I was stuffing my face while my date talked about his job. Suddenly, I noticed my face felt numb, and my lips were tingling. I shifted the lettuce around in my bowl and found the cause.” Jonah buried his face in his hands. “I’m the biggest dick on the planet.” “This isn’t the time to brag about your dick size, Jonah,” Avery chastised. Finding Peace by Adelyn Zara

Title: Finding Peace
Series: Tales of Resilience #1
Author: Adelyn Zara
Genre: Romance
Release Date: July 9, 2020 Cover Design: Giselle Field of Wander Design Struggling after the death of her husband and hindered by her inability to recover from cancer treatment, Lynn isn’t expecting to find anything other than entertainment at an awards show. When she meets music exec Donovan Rue, there’s instant chemistry – and instant chaos.
Donovan faces lawsuits and complaints from disgruntled employees. Lynn’s fragile self-esteem and her recent personal tragedy make her leery of Donovan’s interest. As things heat up between them, their chemistry threatens to implode.
As outside tensions and pressures mount, Lynn breaks away, but Donovan refuses to give up on the strong, resilient woman he sees beneath the damage. Can these two people find peace
An exhausted puppy was asleep in his crate near Lynn’s bedroom fireplace. Lynn and Donovan snuggled together, leaving the young people downstairs. “I hate when Christmas day ends,” Lynn declared as she stared into the fire. “It was such a nice Christmas. I’m glad that you and Dara could share it with us.” “Thank you for having us,” Donovan answered. He smiled softly and asked, “Are you ready for your present, Peace?” A small thrill ran through Lynn followed by guilt. “You’ve given me so much, Donovan! Fancy clothes, jewelry, a chair …” “But today is Christmas!” Donovan stood up, found new music on his playlist. He motioned for Lynn to join him in another dance. Ben Harper’s Forever played as they swayed gently in place. Lynn’s body grew warm, her heartbeat increased at an idea of what Donovan’s present might be. “Donovan,” she whispered as his lips grazed her cheek, their feet barely moving as he swayed her back and forth. His dark eyes sparkled, but he looked intense, needy. “Just let me talk, please,” he pleaded. He quit dancing. Taking a deep breath, Donovan took both of Lynn’s hands into his own. “Lynn, you totally captivate me.” His hand swiped through that raven hair again. “I can’t imagine being without you. I love you so much.” Donovan looked upward, closing his eyes tightly for a minute. “Shit! I can’t even put this into coherent words.” Lynn’s eyes widened in amazement. She was tongue-tied, too. Before she could find words to encourage or comfort him, Donovan was on one knee, still holding her hands. Lynn gasped, breaking her right hand loose from his hold, covering her mouth in surprise. “Lynn, would you marry me?” Now Lynn took back her left hand, bringing it up to join the other on her face. Tears sprung into her bright blue eyes; she still could not communicate. Donovan wasn’t sure what to make of a subdued Lynn. “I know we haven’t known each other long, but I know what I want when I see it.” Again, he ran his hand through his hair. “You see me for who I am, not the celebrity that the media makes up. You bring peace, happiness … shit, Lynn! I don’t care if I get sixty years with you or six minutes. I can’t live without you! I don’t know how to …” “Yes.” Lynn sucked in a breath after she said the one word. Looking down at the man she loved, she saw a mixture of surprise, then relief, then complete love. “Yes?” he whispered. “Yes!” Lynn repeated, then grabbed his hands, intending to help him off the floor. Instead, Donovan pulled her down, wrapped his arms around her, and kissed her as if he was afraid the answer would change. “I was afraid you would say no, say it’s still too soon,” he said when he broke the kiss. “What’s too soon?” Lynn asked. “I’ve been thinking a lot about this since your first proposal. If I’ve learned anything, it’s that time does go quickly, and you’d better grab what you want when the opportunity presents itself. And enjoy every second you have.” Donovan pulled Lynn to him, surrounding her with strong arms. “Absolutely!” he agreed, then continued. “I mean it when I said the time thing. I need to enjoy every minute with you, whether it’s ten minutes or one hundred years.” Lynn leaned over to give Donovan another big kiss.

The feud between Weston Lockwood and me started at the altar.
Only neither of us attended the wedding, and the nuptials happened decades before either of us was born.
Our grandfathers had been best friends and business partners, at least up until my grandfather’s wedding day—when his bride-to-be blurted out she couldn’t marry him because she was also in love with Weston‘s grandfather.
The two men spent years fighting over Grace Copeland, who also happened to be their third business partner.  But in the end, neither man could steal half of her heart away from the other.
Eventually, they all went their separate ways.  Our grandfathers married other women, and the two men became one of the biggest business rivals in history.
Our fathers continued the family tradition of feuding.  And then Weston and I did, too.
For the most part, we kept as much distance as possible.
Until the day the woman who started the feud died—and unexpectedly left one of the most valuable hotels in the world to our grandfathers to share.
Now I’m stuck in a hotel with the man I was born to hate, trying to unravel the mess our families inherited.
As usual, it didn’t take long for us to be at each other’s throats.
Weston Lockwood was everything I hated: tall, smart, cocky, and too gorgeous for his own good.  We were fire and ice.
But that shouldn’t be an issue. Our families were used to being at war. There was just one minor problem, though.   Every time Weston and I fought, we somehow wound up in bed.

Sophia

“What the hell?” I pressed the button on the elevator panel a second time. It illuminated, yet the car continued to sit there. So I jabbed my finger at it a third time. Finally, the doors started to glide closed. Just as they were about to shut completely, a shoe blocked them from closing.
A wingtip shoe.
Weston’s smiling face was there to greet me when the doors bounced open.
My blood was near boiling. “So help me, Lockwood, if you try to get in this car, I can’t be responsible for what happens to you. I’m not in the mood anymore.”
He entered the elevator anyway. “Come on, Fifi. What’s wrong? I’m just playing around. You’re taking things way too seriously.”
I counted to ten in my head, but it didn’t help. Fuck it. He wanted to get a rise out of me? He was going to get one. The doors slid shut again, and I turned and backed him into a corner. Seeing my face, he at least had the decency to look a little nervous.
“You wanna know what’s wrong? I’ll tell you what’s wrong! My father thinks I’m inept because I don’t have an appendage dangling between my legs. The man I spent the last eighteen months with was cheating on me with one of my cousins. Again. I hate New York City. I despise the Lockwood family. And you think you can get away with anything you want just because you have a big dick.” I jabbed my finger into his chest and punctuated each staccato word with another stab.
“I’m
Tired.
Of.
Men.
My father.
Liam.
You.
Every single fucking one of you. So leave me the hell alone!”
Frazzled, I turned back around and waited for the door to open, only to realize we hadn’t started to move yet. Great. Just fucking great. I jabbed the button a few more times, closed my eyes, and took deep, cleansing breaths as we started to move. Halfway through breath three, I felt the heat of Weston’s body behind me. He had to have moved closer. I continued to try to ignore him.
But the fucker still smelled good.
How the hell could that be? Whose cologne lasted for—what had it been now?—twelve hours? After the gauntlet run he’d sent me on across town this morning, I probably smelled like BO. It pissed me off that the asshole smelled…fucking delicious.
He moved closer, and I felt his breath tickle my neck.
“So,” he whispered in a gravelly voice. “You think my dick’s big.”
I turned and scowled at him. While this morning he’d been clean-shaven, he now had a five o’clock shadow all along his chiseled jaw. It gave him a sinister look. The suit that hugged his broad shoulders probably cost more than Liam’s entire sweater wardrobe. Weston Lockwood was everything I hated in a man—wealthy, good looking, cocky, arrogant, and fearless. Liam would hate him. My father already hated him. And at the moment, those were actually Weston’s strong points.
While I struggled with my body reacting to his scent and how much I liked the stubble on his face, Weston slowly reached out and put a hand on my hip. At first, I assumed he thought he needed to steady me, as he had when I’d wobbled in the bar. Had I wobbled again? I didn’t think I had. But I must’ve.
Though when his hand glided from my hip around to my ass, there was no misunderstanding his intention. He was not trying to help me stay on my feet. In my head, my immediate reaction was to scream at him, but somehow my throat felt too clogged to speak.
I made the mistake of looking up from his jaw into his blue eyes. Heat flickered, turning them almost gray, and his eyes dropped to my lips.
No.
Just no.
This was not happening.
Not again.
My heart thundered in my chest, and the blood in my ears roared so loudly I almost didn’t hear the ding of the elevator announcing that we’d arrived at my floor. Thankfully it snapped me out of whatever moment of insanity I’d slipped into.
“I…I need to go.”
It took all of my focus to put one foot in front of the other, but I managed to walk down the hall and make it to my room.
Though…
I wasn’t alone.

It was just a typical manic Monday until the blue and red lights flashed behind my Harley. The cop who pulled me over was good-looking, if you’re into clean cut guys with expressive eyes. He was also cocky and gave me three tickets.

One for speeding.
Another for blowing a light.
And the third for not producing an insurance card.

Jerk.

When he finally let me go, I realized I was more than an hour late for my first day as an intern for the infamous advice column, Ask Ida.

So much for trying to be the only one in my family with a legit job.

Lucky for me, my new boss, Soraya, didn’t fire me on the spot. But that’s where my luck ran out.

A couple of weeks later, in between fetching coffee and finding the missing paperclips, I received a text message from my dad, the president of the Corrupt Hellraisers MC, ordering me to the compound.

Yeah, try explaining that to your new boss.

Hey, I’ve gotta go. Everyone in my family is a criminal and we’re all on lockdown.

You’re fired.

Sure enough when I arrived at the clubhouse, everyone was in cuffs and the jerk who pulled me over was the one ushering my father out of the clubhouse.

They say you never see the bad guys coming.
Well, I didn’t see the cocky jerk coming either.

Series: Satan’s Fury MC – Memphis
Author: L. Wilder
Genre: Romance Suspense
Release Date: July 16, 2020
Cover Design: Mayhem Cover Creations
Over the years I’d been with my share of women. Hell, I’d had more than I could count, but for one reason or another, it never seemed to last. I’d told myself that I just hadn’t found the one, and I was okay with that. I had the club, and with my brothers at my side, I had everything I needed—or so I thought.
Alyssa was young, smoking hot, and had the world at her fingertips. I knew better than to even give her a second look. I was too old, lived a life that wasn’t suited for a woman like her, and as if that wasn’t enough, she was Hyde’s younger sister.
I told myself we were just friends, but in a heated moment, we crossed a line—a line I knew should’ve never been crossed. I knew then that one night would never be enough. There’d be consequences, but I honestly didn’t care.
It wasn’t until I lost her that I realized that it wasn’t about finding the one. It was about being the one. If she’d give me the chance, I’d be that for her and more—even if it meant giving up everything to have her.
Wall Street Journal and USA Today Best Seller, L. Wilder, writes about hot, alpha men and the women who love them. She currently has six series available for readers: The Devil Chaser’s MC, Satan’s Fury MC, Satan’s Fury MC-Memphis, the Redemption Series, the Happy Endings Collection, and the Ruthless Sinners MC. If you’re looking for a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat and have you smiling like a school girl at the end, L. Wilder is the author for you.
