EXCERPT

I lead her through the cabin.
“There’s only one bed,” she says.
“Yeah, but it’s big enough for two.”
“You can’t be serious.”
She tries to look mortified. But I can see the heat in her eyes.
“Oh, I’m serious.”
“Can’t you take the couch or something?”
“Why, when the bed is big enough for the both of us?” I cock an eyebrow at her. “Or are you worried you won’t be able to keep your hands to yourself?”
Indignation replaces her look of horror and she raises her eyebrow. “Oh, I assure you that isn’t the case.”
I sit down on the bed and pat the space beside me, grinning wickedly at her. 
While she stands across the room and murders me with her eyes. “I’ll take the couch.”
I shrug. “Suit yourself.”
She folds her arms. “You’d seriously make me sleep on the couch. So much for chivalry.”
“I’m not making you do anything.” I pat the bed again. “There’s plenty of room.”
Her arms fall to her sides as she gives in. “Fine. But I’m building a giant pillow wall between us.”
I can’t help myself and laugh. For something so little, she sure has a lot of spunk.
I stand up and take a step toward her.
“Knock yourself out. But look at me, darlin’, I’m a big man. You should know I can huff and I can puff, and I can blow that giant pillow wall down.”
My voice is gravelly. Rough. And flowing with the lust I’m feeling coiled in my belly. The push and pull between us is turning me on, and I’m aching to give in to the hunger and take her mouth with mine.
Again, her throat works hard as she struggles to swallow.
Yeah, she’s turned on. Mortified, yes, but turned on, nevertheless.
Her eyes sharpen. “You should know, I’m a light sleeper and did martial arts for six years.”
“Good, I like it rough.”
She raises her chin. “Don’t be fooled by my size. I may be small, but I can kick ass.”
“Rougher the better.”
It is a war of wills now. And it’s making me fucking hard.
“I know what part of the body to aim for to cause the most impact.”
I take a sweeping look up and down her beautiful body. “Ditto.”
Her jaw tightens. “I’ll escape while you’re sleeping.”
“Maybe I’ll tie you to the bed.”
She gasps. “You wouldn’t dare!”
I’m not sure why, or how, or what the fuck is happening, but before I can get any understanding of the situation, I back her up toward the bed and she has no choice but to sit down. She looks up at me, her eyes blazing.
And in that second, I know without a doubt I am going to tie her to my bed.

“Kiss me.” I heard myself whisper. 
Rolf responded in a low growl, crushing his lips to me and doing as I asked. Then he turned us as we stood, with his back to the sofa and walked us over. Sitting and taking me with him, he straddled me over his lap, pulling my dress further up to my hips. I moaned when I felt his fingers brush my skin, and my body jumped with a happiness it had never once known. But still … our kiss … I wanted that kiss from our wedding. 
“Kiss me,” I said again, only this time more demanding, as I plunged my tongue back into my husband’s spicy mouth. 
“Gianna …” The sound of my name rough in his voice, Rolf chuckled as he pulled away and broke our kiss. 
Whimpering, I opened my eyes and found his brown eyes heavy with lust and humour and for a minute, I was lost. Why was he stopping? Why was he laughing? 
A hand tucking my hair behind my ear, Rolf eyes searched my own before he spoke. “Tell me what you want, and I’ll give it to you.” Lust lingering in his voice. 
I frowned. “I told you. Kiss me.” I leaned forward to kiss him. 
Rolf shook his head, and he situated us so that I could feel him under me as I sat on him. “What are you hoping to get from our kiss?” 
Sighing with frustration, I asked. “Can’t you complete a simple task as kissing me and shut up?” I moved to get up but was held down by my hips. 
His eyes focused on my half-naked breasts; he cleared his throat. “If I give you the kiss you were just eating my face off for, will it allow me passage into our bed?” 
His eyes raised to mine, and I half laughed, as I started to panic on the inside. Had I been that obvious that I was searching for the one kiss? That one kiss that made me feel … special? “Don’t flatter yourself, Rolf. You just happened to have caught me in a most uncompromising position.” 
“And what position is that?” He half-whispered as his fingers played with the ends of my waist-length hair. 
“You look like Christoff.” I hissed out in a disgusted tone. “Any kiss I wanted was because of the memories of him.” 
His eyes dropping to my stomach, Rolf held onto me tightly, and pushed me off his lap to stand on my legs. Once he was sure enough that I had my footing, his hand dropped from my waist, and he sat back on the sofa, adjusting the front of his jeans. 
Standing there for a few moments, looking down at him, I asked foolishly. “That’s it? Nothing to say or threaten me with?” 
“No.” Digging into his pocket, Rolf pulled out a single cigarette and lighter and poked the cigarette between his lips. 
Frowning again, I grabbed the cigarette from his lips and took a step back before Rolf could grab hold of me. 
“Why not?”
“Give it back Gianna.” he said in a warning tone. 
“Why not?” I repeated as I ignored his hand gesture to return his cigarette. 
“Princess, if you want to keep telling me how I’m not Christoff so that you have a reason to keep your distance from me so be it. But that kiss you want so much tells you I’m Rolf and I’m the one you hunger for.” He motioned again for the cigarette. “Sooner or later you’ll be back for that kiss and more since I already told you my plan. And when you come for it, I’ll make damn sure that it’s my name you cry and beg for.” 
His face grew dark. “Not just because I intend to fuck you, so you know it, but because Gianna I am going to make love to you. I am going to love every curve of that tempting body of yours, and I am going to brand my name into your skin and down to your very bones. That way, when you’re alone, and you close those beautiful dark eyes, you won’t even remember my brother. No, Princess, you’ll only know me, you’ll only want me. What I told you before I said to piss you off, but now I’m mad, and I’m sick of hearing you say Christoff’s name. I am not him, and when you come for that damn kiss, you’ll see I am Rolf J. Meikle. Your hated bastard, the only one you will only ever want.”

When she brushed her lips against his in the softest hint of a kiss, he felt that whisper-light touch absolutely everywhere. “Take me inside.” She kissed him again, this time with a little more pressure, more intensity, her palm resting on his cheek. As she backed away, she opened the passenger side door. “Let’s see how special the special blend is.”
