What kind of life was it when your best quality was pulling the trigger?

Drugs and alcohol have been my companion for so long I’m not sure I can feel anything real anymore.

I saw her again…wanted her… to be real. She’s my dark angel and I’m the devil that’s going to ruin her. Even if I have to drag her down into my hell I’ll have her. I’ll make her whimper, then I’ll make her scream. Frisco is mine. She just doesn’t know it yet.

I saw him again: mysterious, moody and high. I don’t care. I’m not looking to fix anyone. I’m not looking to save anyone, hell I can’t save myself.

I’m just window shopping and he’s pretty to look at. When he brushed past me, I could feel the heat radiating off his body. When he stared down into my eyes, I wanted to drown in them. When he shoved me against the door and kissed me … I remembered he belonged to someone else.

His unique scent still lingers in me…on me …around me … cedar and gunpowder.

It’s all him…all male …all Wrench

Read Chapter One for FREE:
When all magical hell broke loose and the vampires fought the witches, the very human Abby Benson was the one who had to pay the ultimate price. Devastated by an unexpected loss, she spirals into grief—until she realizes she has the one thing no one can take from her: hope.

Determined not to give up, and with the help of an unlikely ally, she sets out to reclaim what was taken from her. But to get what she wants, she and her family will once again have to wage war with the witches. This time, though, the stakes are higher, and there won’t be another second chance.
“What’re you cooking?” I asked.
“Bacon, scrambled eggs, and toast.” He moved gracefully from the stove to the toaster. Even though he wasn’t exerting himself, his muscles still strained beneath his blue T-shirt.
No wonder Chloe had been torn between him and Trent. They were both gorgeous in their own ways, and they were good guys, too. Kind, compassionate, funny, loyal. They’d both move heaven and earth for those they loved. They were like Isach in that respect. God, I missed him so much.
Jax set a plate of food in front of me, and I inhaled deeply. My stomach rumbled. He planted his hands on the counter and shifted his weight forward as he studied me.
“What?” I asked.
“You’re not as gray as you were last night.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
He shrugged, straightened, then crossed his arms over his chest. “You tell me.”
I rolled my eyes. I’d forgotten he could see a person’s aura and determine their emotions. Talk about annoying. Between him being able to do that and Whitney and Wyatt being able to read thoughts, I was walking on proverbial eggshells. Maybe moving in here wasn’t such a great idea.
I grabbed my fork and scooped eggs into my mouth. Swallowing, I said, “Everyone keeps telling me things will get easier with time. Maybe that’s finally happening.”
“Hmm.” Jax turned away from me, fixed himself a plate, then returned to sit beside me.
Head down, I focused on my food so I wouldn’t have to say anything, or risk him figuring out what I was trying to keep hidden.
“I don’t believe that, by the way,” he said.
“Believe what?” I glanced over at him, and he met my gaze. His eyes were full of compassion.
“That loss and grief gets easier with time. It doesn’t. We just get better at handling the pain.” He averted his gaze and shoved a slice of bacon into his mouth.
Momentarily stunned, all I could do was stare at him. What did he know about loss? I opened my mouth to ask him, then snapped it shut. Chloe had told me all about Hannah, how Jax had loved her and how tragically he’d lost her. He’d also lost Isach, too, though I wasn’t sure those two were quite as close as Isach and Trent had been.
“Morning.” Chloe walked into the kitchen. Her gaze landed on me and Jax, and her steps faltered. “What’s going on here?”
The corner of Jax’s mouth lifted in an arrogant smirk. “Someone’s jealous.”
Chloe narrowed her eyes. “I’m not jealous.”
“The aura doesn’t lie,” he said in a sing-song voice.
Chloe huffed and shook her head, but I didn’t miss the almost smile she fought to hide. Only then did it hit me that Jax, in his own bizarre way, was mourning the loss of Chloe. He loved her, and she hadn’t chosen him. He’d lost the woman he loved. My heart softened toward him and what he was going through. I wondered what was worse—knowing the person you loved was dead and you’d never see them again, or seeing the person you loved every single day as they went about their life in love with someone else.

Frankie Sullivan was everything I wasn’t.
She was good, beautiful and strong.
She hadn’t let her past break her.
She’d held on to the hope for a better tomorrow, not only for herself but for her two boys.
She was a woman who wanted…who deserved more.

I wasn’t a man who could give more.
I was cold, broken and full of rage.
My past had broken me.
I never allowed anyone get too close.

I’d tried to fight the pull I felt towards her.
But all the little things—her smile, her light, the feel of her skin on mine—drew me in.

It was all the little things that would become my undoing.

Leslie Wilder grew up in a small town in West Tennessee. A country girl at heart, she’s always thought that life is too short, but she had no idea how short it really was until her brother passed away in 2014. She’s always been an avid reader, loving the escape only a great book can give, and wondered if she had what it took to write one of the wild romances she’d come to adore. With the support of her family and friends, she published Inferno: A Devil Chaser’s MC, one year after her brother’s death. With him in mind, she fulfilled her lifetime dream of writing. Since then, she’s completed the Devil Chaser’s Series and continued on with the Satan’s Fury MC Series. She has so many stories in her head, and can’t wait to share each and every one.
Leslie has been blown away by the support of her readers, appreciating every message, review, and encouraging word she’s received over the past year. She looks forward to continuing this journey with them for years to come.

I came back to Mason Creek when my life was turned upside down, both literally and figuratively. Scared and alone, I packed my belongings and left New York where I’ve made a career as a writer for a national publication to stay with my parents in the town so different than the big apple they might as well be on different planets.

Getting to see my friends was a big plus, but meeting someone new never crossed my mind until a ruggedly handsome man in jeans and a worn baseball cap came over to say hello. Not knowing someone in this small town is like not knowing how to breathe. The slightly older man caught my eye, just as much as I caught his. A witty and roguish personality kept me on my toes, even if falling for someone new is the last thing I need.

Neither of us wants a relationship, yet we keep finding each other in this small town. Rumors fly, hearts connect, and there’s more at stake than either of us are willing to share.

This man has secrets everyone wants to know, but when more than he’s willing to share is revealed I hope I’m strong enough to help him. I may have come back to town to save myself, but saving him might be the real reason I’m here.

Open Doors, Book 1

One hidden crush. One bunch of plastic mistletoe. One alcohol-fueled kiss. One set of taillights as Max Martino left town.

Sixteen years later…

Sam Addison hates change, and his company’s new merger is stretching him to his limit. When Sam finds out an older, hotter, and amazingly talented Max Martino is part of the acquisition, he knows the only way to keep his sanity is to avoid Max—and their history—at any cost.

Max never planned to settle down, but recently he’s been pining for roots. A new job, a new city, and a second chance with Sam makes the thought of staying in one place exciting for the first time ever. But the harder Max pushes, the farther Sam runs, sometimes literally, and Max begins to wonder if Sam can ever let go of the biggest mistake Max ever made—leaving.

But maybe a second chance at forever is as simple as holding the door open for love.

“You’ve probably already figured it out, but this is the Museum of Photographic Arts. I thought you’d like it because, you know, you’re a photographer and everything. And I don’t know if you know this, but this museum is one of only three in the whole country specifically dedicated to photography. I thought that was pretty cool.” Sam took a breath and turned to look at me as we walked into the lobby. I hadn’t actually figured out where we were. I had been busy snapping pictures in the park as I walked from the parking lot, and I hadn’t noticed the signs until he’d mentioned the name. “I didn’t know that. That’s so cool.” The fact that Sam had thought of this particular outing for us with me in mind was more than cool. So much more than cool, actually. I was oddly verklempt over it, but I swallowed the emotion and turned, beaming at Sam. “I have to warn you about something, though,” he said, meeting my eyes. That sounded ominous. “Um, okay…” “I’m a plaque reader,” he said, completely deadpan. His face was expressionless, and I actually couldn’t tell if he was joking or not, so I hedged. “Okay. I think you need to explain.” He smiled a little sheepishly. “I mean, people hate going to museums with me because I have to read every single museum label next to every single item. Every word. Like I almost can’t move on until I do. So, yeah.” He shuffled his feet on the shiny epoxy floor, his face lit by the blue lights of the MOPA welcome desk behind him. My hand twitched toward my bag, itching to grab my camera and capture his face in the moment. Instead, I moved my twitching hand to his shoulder. “Oh no. That’s a really terrible affliction,” I said. I tried and failed to mimic his deadpan, but I couldn’t keep the laughter off my face or out of my voice. “Are you teasing me right now? I’m serious, Max!” Sam huffed. I shook my head, my smile getting wider. “Sam, I don’t mind. I like to read the labels too. It doesn’t bother me.” Sam raised an eyebrow. “You say that now but see how you feel in two hours when we’re still in the same room.” “I’m sure I’ll be fine. Let’s go.” We made donations to the museum since they had a pay-what-you-like admission policy and made our way into the exhibition areas. True to his word, Sam read every word of every label. Since I didn’t have anywhere else to be and I was with someone who was as into the exhibits as I was, we stood shoulder to shoulder and read together, taking way longer than we needed to in front of each piece. The constant feel of Sam’s shoulder brushing mine had me desperate to reach for his hand, and as we moved into the special exhibition gallery, I couldn’t take it anymore. Sam came to a stop in front of the first image, a small black-and-white portrait of an older woman, and my hand again twitched toward my camera. I wanted the picture of Sam looking intently at a picture, but the No Cameras sign kept me from snapping the shot. The irony of being unable to take photos in a photography museum wasn’t lost on me. I watched him for another second, my palms sweating and my heart flipping over in my chest. He was beautiful in profile, and then he twisted and shot a small smile my direction before turning back to the picture. I couldn’t resist anymore. I had to touch him. I walked up behind him and ran my hand from his shoulder to his wrist, eliciting a shiver, before I twined our fingers together.

It was only supposed to be a one night stand…

You could say I was a successful twenty-four year old, if you looked at my house sitting on the edge of a cliff with killer views of the Pacific Ocean. Or my bank account with seven figures from my coaching business. But according to my frenemy, the girl who invited me to her bachelorette party at an exclusive resort in Lake Tahoe, I was just a sad, lonely girl without a man by my side. I’d show her who was living the dream by finding a tall, dark, and handsome man to rock my world for one night.

I accomplish everything I set out to do in life, and that dark haired stranger was no exception. Unfortunately, I didn’t plan on him standing on my doorstep three days later, calling me his wife.

It was only supposed to be one hot and pleasurable night. He wasn’t supposed to ruin my business with his risky proposition to save his own. And I definitely wasn’t supposed to develop feelings for the cowboy who knows how to wear a pair of jeans. They say to bring your A-game to the negotiating table, but we may find out the hard way there’s no winning in love….or one night stands.

“Have dinner with me?” I begged, hoping he’d take the hint and skip dinner altogether.

His eyes had widened the tiniest bit, but his lips curved into a full out smile, the sight of which cut off air from my lungs. I needed to get laid. I was about to come apart just touching this guy’s shirt and seeing him smile at me. Granted, it was a damn good smile, the kind that made me feel like I was a tiny animal staring into the face of a predator intent on eating me in a way that I’d thoroughly enjoy.

“Why don’t we skip dinner and have a drink together?” he offered.

I lifted a shoulder, aware of the strap of my dress slipping down my arm. “There’s not an open chair.”

His hands lifted and found my hips, his thumbs almost touching in the middle they were so big. “Pretty sure my lap will work fine.”

Holy hot cowboy. The stranger lifted me, which wasn’t easy considering I was close to six feet in these heels, depositing me on his lap, an arm snaking around my middle to hold me there. A waft of his cologne had me shifting.

His arm tightened, and he practically growled in my ear. “Sit still or we’ll have to forgo the drink too.”

I instantly stilled, my brain wanting more conversation and playful banter, even though my body would have been happy with a sprint to the hotel elevator to head upstairs to one of our rooms in the next five seconds.

“I should probably ask for your name,” I said much more calmly than I felt.

His thumb, the one that lay on my stomach, below the swell of my breast, swept up and down. “Remington. Yours?”

Jesus, even his name was hot. “Esme. And yes, I know it’s a weird one.”

His head gave a quick shake. “Not weird. Unique and beautiful, just like the woman.”

The bartender slid my wine across the bar top and another amber colored glass toward Remington. He lifted his and waited until I’d clinked our glasses together.

“To a much better night than I envisioned,” he rumbled.

Publication date: June 15th 2021
Genres: Adult, Paranormal, Romance

A novice vampire hunter with a mission. A three-hundred-year-old vampire with a strong sense of irony. A town plagued by otherworldly creatures they must save.

When Johnathan Newman arrives alone in the isolated lumber town of Cress Haven, Maine, the last thing he expects is for his life to be irrevocably changed. Sent by the Society, a clandestine league of vampire hunters, to investigate a string of murders and disappearances among the town’s young women, the grisly state of the recovered bodies most certainly points to a vampire lurking amid the townsfolk. Johnathan’s attempts to enlist the locals leads him to an unlikely partnership with the alluring Vic, the town’s most eligible, if enigmatic, bachelor.

As the pair work to solve the mystery, Vic’s own secrets come back to bite him. Revealed, the vampire fights his growing attraction to a man trained to destroy him at whatever cost. But he is not alone. Johnathan’s confusing emotions land him in the middle of forbidden desires. Forbidden not only by those who created him, but by his heart itself. Even if Vic isn’t the murderer Johnathan seeks, how can he yearn for a creature who should be his natural enemy?

With an evil presence creeping through Cress Haven and inhabiting its citizens, the two men must suffer their feelings and walk together into the unknown. As Vic leads Johnathan into encounters with terrifying beings straight from children’s stories, Johnathan learns that not only is the world far stranger than he knew, but that the Society he has trusted has far more disturbing intentions for the invading creatures than he imagined. Intentions that will place hunter and vampire at the center of a conflict between realms.

Unfortunately, Cress Haven holds far more sinister secrets than its resident vampire, a secret so great, it could unleash Hell itself.
