rom Book 1: Caught between a mad scientist, a witch, and a hard place
โ€”and that was before he shifted.

Austin thinks he’s a guy trying to do the right thing, live a decent life that heโ€™d fought so hard for. Then his world changes forever…

A secret government project, Operation Elevate, abducts him for their nefarious and mysterious purpose, and what are they giving him in return? A mission, a lover, and the ability to shift into a panther. Now he’s battling against forces he doesn’t understand.

He had thought he could stop fighting, but Austinโ€™s fight is only beginning.

Operation Elevate Part One: Panther Abducted

EXCERPT #3

โ€œHey.โ€ The man brought my attention back to him. โ€œThis my place.โ€

โ€œCan you help us?โ€

He glared at me. โ€œMaybe. Donโ€™t you think about taking this.โ€ He motioned to the walls of the cabin. โ€œIโ€™ll tear you up.โ€

The place seemed modern and luxurious. It didnโ€™t belong to this hobo. I noticed a set of stairs tucked behind the kitchen that led up to a loft. It probably held a bedroom or two. It might be someoneโ€™s vacation home, though one that hadnโ€™t been used for a long time. โ€œIโ€™d bet we could find a way to turn the power on.โ€

โ€œNo.โ€ Hobo rushed toward me. โ€œYou leave! No power.โ€

โ€œOkay, fine.โ€ I held my hands up.

Todd sidled up next to me. โ€œHeโ€™s right. If we turned the power on, it would give us away.โ€

โ€œPeople looking for you?โ€ Hobo stepped closer and leaned toward Todd.

I growled. Mate! As if Panther had to remind me. He infused a lot of meaning in that one word, though. Protecting and defending his claim was the gist of it, and I agreed.

Hobo raised his hands and stepped back. His beady eyes shifted between us. Thatโ€™s when I realized his eyes were too beady, not entirely human. He might actually have been an escapee like us, but he seemed older than we were. That could have been from hard living. He obviously had been roughing it.

โ€œI up all night.โ€ He stepped toward the couch. โ€œNeed sleep. We talk.โ€ He waved his hands around. โ€œLater.โ€ Then he yawned, and his mouth split open at an unnaturally wide-angle, showing a row of sharp teeth across the bottom. Trey, Dooley, and Bruce missed it since they were picking spots on the floor to sit down, but Todd hadnโ€™t. He elbowed me. Austin, Panther Escaped
