In this upper middle grade series, a pre-teen international thief turns over a new leaf (sort of) to right societal wrongs in her snooty new town. For Frankie, using her less-than-legal set of skills to pull a heist against a crooked real estate mogul with the help of her new friend Ollie was super gratifying, but she’s getting restless now. In the second book in the series, the potentially reformed thief dives into the dangerous and political world of trafficking exotic animals. Frankie and Ollie hear that there’s a dangerous exotic animal farm supplying Greenwich’s elite with lions and tigers and bears. Feeling an instant kinship with the endangered creatures locked away in their cages, Frankie makes it her mission to find the perpetrators, free the beautiful beasts, and ensnare the bad guys in a trap of her own.

1. OCEAN’S ELEVEN
There’s no greater heist franchise than the Ocean’s movies. Whether it’s the all-star cast (and major eye candy) or the way you’re kept wondering how they’re gonna do it, this flick is the gift that keeps on giving.
2. NOW YOU SEE ME
Are you kidding? Magic. Slight of hand. Robbery. Sarcasm. So many elements that make for a great movie and excellent tools for a thief. (Frankie uses a lot of slight of hand and misdirection on her jobs too).
3. SUGAR & SPICE
As a former cheerleader, I’m a fan of anything that includes Pom pons and high-flying fun. Add in a bank robbery and some campiness, it’ll have you cheering Y-A-S!
4. CATCH ME IF YOU CAN
Not totally a heist movie per-se, but it IS about a famous con-man—Ironically, the same one that Frankie is named after in THE INFAMOUS FRANKIE LORDE. Toss in Leo DiCaprio and the fact the film is based off of real-life International con artist Frank Abagnale Jr, and this flick steals the show.
5. ROBIN HOOD
I’m going old-school with this one and choosing the Disney version. No one is a better thief than this clever fox—except for maybe Frankie herself—and Robin’s desire to steal from the rich and give to the poor is truly admirable.
Brittany Geragotelis is the author of the fun heist series, THE INFAMOUS FRANKIE LORDE. She’s also the author of the magical teen series, LIFE’S A WITCH (being developed for TV), mom to two mischievous boys, a cat, a dog and four fish, and wife to an awesome guy who spends all his time on YouTube. When she’s not writing or momming, she’s reading, binge-watching shows on Netflix and Hulu and making day-trips to Disneyland.
