“Nothing lasts forever…”
Madeleine Hayes was dragged away from her quiet British life when she was just a teenager. As much as she loved Sunnyville, California, something stopped her from ever feeling at home there and twelve years later, following her father’s death, she has questions. With nothing left to lose, Maddie returns to her home town to dig into the events that sent her family fleeing for their lives all those years ago.
Kaden Kemp’s life was torn apart the night he witnessed his father’s murder. A corrupt police force ensured no one paid for the crime but he always knew exactly who was responsible. With no choice but to get on with his life, he thinks the events of that night are behind him, until the killer’s daughter returns to Frost Ford. Kaden is determined to finally get justice. If he can keep his hands off her, that is.
The spark between them is undeniable as sworn enemies are forced to work together to uncover a deadly secret.
Will they survive?

Emma had a dream. It took a long time to realise that dream.
When it finally happened, it came via a career as a pre-school teacher, becoming a Mum of three, and 15 years as an army wife, following her husband from posting to posting across the UK and Europe while he served his country. She and her family have now left the army bubble and settled in their forever home of Spain.
In between masquerading as a domestic goddess and drinking gallons of sangria in the name of staying cool she has, at last, sat down and listened to the voices in her head.
Emma writes strong female leads who enjoy running in circles around the men who turn to mush for them. Her books can be dark and twisty, with bloodshed before the happy ever after, but she’ll get you there. Eventually.

EXCERPT:
My boss needs a personal shopper for Christmas, and Ive already told him I know the very best one in Manhattan.” Toni gives me an open-mouthed smile, clearly expecting me to jump up and down.
Your boss. As in Archibald Snooty Pants the Forty-Second?” I ask, pursing my lips.
She opens her mouth, but I cut her off with one finger in the air. You complain about the man all the time.”
Its not like hes a horrible person, hes just a one trick pony—all work and no play. Plus, its not like youll have to work side-by-side with him or anything. You probably wont even have to see him.”
Im not a personal shopper,” I tell her. Unless his family and friends want ramen noodles or discount t-shirts from the guy who sells them out of his trunk in front of my apartment building, I would have no idea what to buy.”
Yeah, well, Archie doesnt know that.” She pumps her eyebrows up and down like a comedian.
Toni, you told me the guy was a rich stuck-up preppy from the Hamptons. While I would love nothing more than to make some extra money, I dont have the foggiest notion how to shop for rich people.”
So watch some holiday episodes of Real Housewives and see what they buy each other. Hell tell you how much to spend on each person. Come on, Holl, its not brain surgery. Its shopping. You know how to shop. And you need the money.”
What if he hates me?” I despise feeling so pathetic, but Im totally out of my league here.
Then he hates you. So what? Believe me when I tell you, Archibald Harrington only thinks about work. You cant take anything he says personally.”
Dread slams into me like a wrecking ball. How much do you think I can make?”
Enough to pay for Christmas and at least the next three months of Faiths preschool tuition. How can you pass that up?”
The answer is, I cant. And if it means working for a cranky billionaire, then Toni is right. Ill do whatever I have to do in order to take care of Faith. I just cant guarantee Ill like it.
Fine,” I tell her. How many gifts am I supposed to buy?”
Hell need all of his family gifts, which include his godfathers family. Hes spending Christmas with them in Newport. He wants you to cover his business gifts, as well. The VIPs are starred, meaning those particular gifts need to be extra-amazing. Ive also made you a list of everything that I want, so I dont wind up with another Monte Blanc pen. Ive already sold three of those suckers on eBay and I only get a fraction of what theyre worth.”
I dont even know what a Monte Blanc pen is.” My chest tightens like Im not getting enough oxygen.
She hands me a piece of paper. This is a list of websites to check out. You can order everything and have it delivered here.”
Why cant I just have everything sent to his office? What am I going to do with it?”
After taking a healthy swig of white zinfandel, Toni says, Youre going to wrap everything up and make it look like Santa himself cracked the whip on the gift-wrapping elves. Once you have everything purchased and ready, Ill send a car to pick the gifts up.”
Youll send a car, will you?” I tease.
Yeah, well, I can do those fancy things in the name of my boss.”
How am I going to pay for everything?” I ask. I have about two hundred dollars of credit left on my card. I dont think thats going to cut it.”
Toni opens her purse and hands me a shiny black credit card. Theres no limit, so if you dont mind doing a little jail time, you could have a lot of fun.”
No limit? I cant imagine such a thing.” I fantasize about what damage I could do with plastic like this. Not only could I pay for Faiths school for the rest of the year, but I could also get my mom into one of those nursing homes that has a hair salon and restaurant. I could upgrade to a two-bedroom apartment so Faith doesnt have to sleep in the closet anymore, and I could even splurge and buy myself some real leather gloves.
Youre imagining, arent you?” Toni jolts me out of my daydream.
I most certainly am. The first thing Id do is buy Faith whatever winter coat she wanted and then Id take her out to a nice restaurant.”
Toni rolls her eyes. If youre going down for a crime, youve got to think bigger.”
I stare at the card for a second, then look back up at Toni. How can you stand working for someone who has so much? Dont you just want to steal cash out of his wallet once in a while?” I dont really have the heart of a felon, Im just tired of always being broke.
The nice thing about Archie is that even though he has the personality of a killer shark, hes generous. He has a Friday lunch catered for his staff every week, and he makes sure to float us enough extras that none of us are tempted to steal from him. Hes a good businessman.”
Even though hes a stuck-up preppy?” I ask for clarification.
Exactly.”
I look at the list of stores she thinks I should shop at—Tiffanys, Saks Fifth Avenue, Harrods, The House of Bijan … “Whats my budget?”
She hands me another piece of paper. The handwriting isnt hers, so Im guessing its Archies. He wants me to spend four thousand dollars on his mother?!”
Yup. He wants her to have two gifts. One of them needs to be the main. The other can be fancy ass chocolates or something.”
Right, but probably not gas station chocolates.”
Quit stressing, Holls, youve got this.”
I dont know why, but for the life of me I cant see this ending well…

Melanie Summers also writes steamy romance as MJ Summers.
Melanie made a name for herself with her debut novel, Break in Two, a contemporary romance that cracked the Top 10 Paid on Amazon in both the UK and Canada, and the top 50 Paid in the USA. Her highly acclaimed Full Hearts Series was picked up by both Piatkus Entice (a division of Hachette UK) and HarperCollins Canada. Her first three books have been translated into Czech and Slovak by EuroMedia. Since 2013, she has written and published three novellas, and eight novels (of which seven have been published). She has sold over a quarter of a million books around the globe.
In her previous life (i.e. before having children), Melanie got her Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta, then went on to work in the soul-sucking customer service industry for a large cellular network provider that shall remain nameless (unless you write her personally – then she’ll dish). On her days off, she took courses and studied to become a Chartered Mediator. That designation landed her a job at the R.C.M.P. as the Alternative Dispute Resolution Coordinator for ‘K’ Division. Having had enough of mediating arguments between gun-toting police officers, she decided it was much safer to have children so she could continue her study of conflict in a weapon-free environment (and one which doesn’t require makeup and/or nylons).
Melanie resides in Edmonton with her husband, three young children, and their adorable but neurotic one-eyed dog. When she’s not writing novels, Melanie loves reading (obviously), snuggling up on the couch with her family for movie night (which would not be complete without lots of popcorn and milkshakes), and long walks in the woods near her house. She also spends a lot more time thinking about doing yoga than actually doing yoga, which is why most of her photos are taken ‘from above’. She also loves shutting down restaurants with her girlfriends. Well, not literally shutting them down, like calling the health inspector or something–more like just staying until they turn the lights off.

How far will two sorcerers go to save humanity? Will they give up their lives? Will they give up their hearts?
Blurb
A broken mage. A penitent vampire. Can they put aside the horrors of the past to save each other?
Plagued with erratic. volatile magic, Nicodemus Green focuses his entire life to stop an evil sorcerer who brainwashes or kills anyone in his path to domination. Ten years into this crusade, Nick stumbles upon his former Academy instructor in the Austrian Alps. The strict and pious Byron Domitius has cloistered himself in an isolated manor. Alone and starving, he hates the twisted, damned creature he has become.
A prophecy calls for Nick and Byron to bond by blood to finally bring an end to the sorcerer’s hidden agenda. The two are forced to see beyond their shared past, and Nick finds himself desiring more from his old instructor than just his magic. But are these emotions real, or do they come from the heat of their bond?
Excerpt – Stargazing
They stood side by side, almost close, looking up at the twinkling stars. Byron pointed, and Nick followed his finger to the sky.
“Perseus,” Byron said. “Do you see that, the upper right branch of Perseus? Do you know what I’m talking about?”
“I had astronomy with you two years in a row. Or did you forget?”
“I didn’t forget. I nurtured the assumption that you and your gang of goons had more important things to do than pay attention in my class.”
“Goons? We did pay attention. I know the constellation.” He didn’t remember it from Byron’s class, though. They had a Mentor of the Month who lived at an observatory near the top of Mt. St. Helens in Washington, and they’d spent hours staring at the stars. It had been windy and cold, and the sky had been clear, the stars brilliant.
“Fine. That star, the bright one, is Algol. It means Demon Head. Fitting for the constellation that is supposed to hold the head of Medusa.”
Nick hmmed to show he was listening. Byron’s voice was soothing, deep and quiet in the dark of night. Comfortable. Safe. “Algol is actually a tertiary star, but the third star is so weak, it puts off little shine. It’s used by celestials as a binary system to imbue power into obsidian.”
“A twin star.” Suddenly invested, Nick gazed up with a sense of wonder. “Is that the power that was in my obsidian, sir?”
Byron nodded, then turned to Nick, his dark eyes fathomless, his face young and smooth and illuminated from above. “Yes. There are two stars there, circling one another. Their individual gravitational pull keeps them in a perfect orbit, tethered in their eternal spin. And together, they are brighter for it,” he said softly, reverently. The air felt heavy, and then Byron faced the sky.
Nick watched his old professor out of the corner of his eyes, unmoving, like a statue, gazing upon the night sky with a depth of sorrow and yearning Nick couldn’t understand, never could understand, even after his years of wandering. He wanted to reach out, touch him, perhaps melt his cold flesh, make him come alive with contact, and then he realized he was staring and thinking inappropriate things.
He cleared his throat.
“Well, I should get back in, Byron. Enjoy your evening.”
Byron slowly looked down at him, a small smile on his lips, not a smirk, but a close cousin like he could read Nick’s thoughts. Felt Nick’s desire like a breeze on his arms.
“You as well.”

Blurb:
Titus has two goals in life – kill rogues and get paid to do it.
After killing a few traffickers, he finds a woman cowering in a closet. He knows he should send her on her way, but there was something about her that wouldn’t let him let her go.
Two days is all it takes for him to realize he wants her more than his next breath.
Kendall spent more than a month in that closet when Titus finds her. She assumes he plans to take her to make money for himself.
But when he takes her to his home and tells her she can stay as long as she needs, she begins to wonder if there is more than meets the eye with this big, quiet guy.
After a while, she realizes he has not only become her best friend but that she’s falling head over heels for him.
It’s only a matter of time, though, before people like Titus come face to face with their enemies.
And this enemy has no problem using Kendall to punish Titus for his past.
Lynn Howard lives in Cedar Hill, MO, where all her sexy Shifters exist. She lives and breathes hot Alpha males and sassy brassy females. She feels the most at home knee-deep in mud and chicken muck and prefers to be outside under the stars, cuddled up under a blanket in front of a bonfire than in the big city.
When not typing away or feeding her chickens, you can find her fantasizing about hot country boys for her next book or wandering the woods in search of wildlife. She loves all animals and insects…except spiders. Her favorite foot accessory is barefoot and she owns at least thirty sets of salt-n-pepper shakers, yet only uses one.
Gray’s Wolf is the first in her Big River Pack series. And just like in Gray’s Wolf, there are more hot country boy Shifters just waiting their turn for a little love and romance.

Closing the space between them, Kendall wrapped her arms around his waist and pressed her cheek against his chest.
He stiffened at the contact for a good thirty seconds before slowly wrapping her up in a tender hug.
Kendall listened to his heart beating in his chest, reveled in the heat pouring from his body, let herself be wrapped in his warm, spicy, masculine scent.
T’s body began to soften and relax against her. Eventually, he lowered his cheek to the top of her head. And they just held each other.
His hug felt awkward, though. She didn’t feel awkward, but he felt like he’d never simply held someone before. Kind of like when she’d started to cry over her nightmare. Instead of sitting beside her or talking to her, he rushed out of the room and brought back all the stuff he’d bought.
It was like he didn’t have or didn’t know his love language.
As Kendall listened to his breath saw in and out of his lungs, she had a fleeting query. Was he an animal person or not? His eyes glowed like those other guys. But he was nothing like them.
She couldn’t come out and ask him, though. If he wasn’t, if he just had something wrong with his eyes and knew nothing about men who turned into animals, he might think she was nuts.
And as much as she wanted to head out and find somewhere new to hide, she wasn’t sure if she really could yet. Not until she got a few more meals and a few more nights of sleep.
Also, the thought of walking away from T and never seeing him again caused a sharp pain to move through her chest. As though her heart had been shattered from loss.
Odd.
She’d known T for less than twelve hours. She still didn’t know his real name. Or anything else about him, other than the fact he killed bad guys.
Yet, this one embrace chased away all the fears she’d carried for so long. He chased away the cobwebs of the nightmare. He made her forget, at least for a moment, that she’d been held for almost a month and had been practically tortured the entire time.
The backs of her eyes burned as his hold tightened around her. She only let one tear escape before snuggling closer to his chest and allowing him to make her feel safe. If only while she was there with him.

Sometimes love is defined by fear.
Blurb
They’d been through it all and emerged victorious. Now they stood on the very brink of a whole new life bursting with possibilities and renewed hope for the future. Colin will take the bar exam and begin his promising career as an Assistant Commonwealth Attorney for the city of Charlottesville. Joshua receives his second Ph.D. and adds Forensic Psychologist to his list of achievements. What could possibly go wrong?
And then:
Three students are abducted from the University of Virginia campus. All three are recovered alive but have been sexually assaulted and brutally beaten. From his new position as Assistant Commonwealth Attorney, Colin partners with both campus and city police in a combined task force determined to solve these horrific crimes and put the perpetrator behind bars. But can they succeed before the ‘campus abductor’ strikes again?
The abusive and volatile husband of one of Joshua’s patients threatens his life. Suddenly Joshua is under siege as he is stalked both at work and at home by an unstable assailant.
Entangled in both these life-threatening situations, Colin struggles to protect both the university he loves and the man he adores. But…
“Oh god, Josh, my sweet love, if anything’s happened to you…” his voice trailed off, unable to voice the unthinkable.
“NO! Joshua’s mind shrieked. I can’t give up! I won’t give up! Colin will come! He’ll come!”
Warning: This novel discusses sensitive material which may be distressing to some readers. Relevant Law explores themes of abduction, physical violence, and non-graphic sexual assault.
Excerpt
Colin surged to his feet and strode toward the front desk just as Ray, the desk sergeant entered. He grabbed Colin’s arm and drew him toward the door. “A friend of yours found Joshua’s car by the Culbreth.” He shoved Colin toward the door where several uniformed officers waited. “Go with the guys!”
Without uttering a sound he moved through the station house door and into the darkness beyond. He felt the cool night air touch his face and as he lurched to a halt his heart jackhammered against his chest. “Oh, sweet Jesus, no!” he whispered, feeling his insides twist with horror. “NO!” As he reached the squad car, he felt a strong hand grab his arm and guide him into the vehicle.
“Just take it easy, Colin. We’ll find him.”
When the squad car approached the street where the Culbreth Theater was located they were nearly blinded by the spinning flash of police and ambulance lights. The area was already surrounded by law enforcement and Colin spotted both campus and city police cars parked at random angles, blocking off the street forcing them to stop where they were.
He bolted from the car and ran to where several police officers were gathered. Some were bending to examine the ground, and the beam from various flashlights darted here and there as others examined every inch of ground, sidewalk, bushes, and street.
“Colin!” a voice called, and he spun to see Lenny striding toward him. “Ray called me,” Lenny said, grabbing Colin in a tight embrace. “We’ll find him, Colin. I promise you. We’ll find him.”
He saw flashing police lights in the parking lot across the street and sprinted across the busy avenue to join them. He spotted Joshua’s car at once, surrounded by several uniformed police and moved toward it. As he approached, one of the officers grabbed his arm. “Colin, don’t touch it! We want to check it for prints or other evidence.”
Colin nodded but gave no response. He turned away and blindly stumbled back across the street to the theater. For a moment he stood, surrounded by the flashing lights, hearing the murmur of somber voices, feeling himself teetering on the edge of collapse. “Josh,” he moaned. “Oh god, this can’t be happening.”
He felt Lenny take his arm and lead him to one side. “Take it easy, buddy. Just let the guys work. They’ll figure it out. We’ll find him, Colin. We’re searching his car now, looking for anything that might help us. We can’t find his cellphone anywhere.”
Colin lowered his head and nodded without fully understanding, then spun as the sound of heartbroken sobbing reached his ears. He saw David kneeling on the ground, embracing someone who was bent over, clutching a cloth garment, rocking back and forth as if in pain. He moved to where David knelt and fell to the ground beside him. The voice was Nate’s.
“I heard him!” Nate choked out, shaking with sobs. “I heard him cry out, but I ignored it. Thought I was imagining things! It’s my fault! He brought me my jacket and it’s my fault! Oh god, oh god, oh god! Josh!” He lifted his head and his tear-streaked face twisted in pain when he saw Colin kneeling beside him. “Oh god, Colin, forgive me!”
About the Author
My name is Janice Jarrell. I am a retired grandmother who lives in Seattle, WA. I have two children and three grandsons. I’ve been writing gay romance since I was twelve years old, only back then it wasn’t called ‘gay romance’. In fact, it had no name at all. It was the fifty’s, and it was worth your life to admit to being gay, let alone confess to being a girl who constantly fantasized about relationships between gay men. Hell, I didn’t even know what a homosexual was. I lived on a farm out in the sticks in a tiny Michigan village and I’d never, to my knowledge, even heard the word. I just knew I loved the thought of boy-on-boy romance. I just knew that there was something hot going on between Tom Corbett and his Space Cadets and all those guys on ‘Combat’.
I wrote slash fanfiction for 30 years, writing over 337 stories, some as short as 100 words (a drabble), some as long as a series which was over 119,012 words. I enjoy writing my stories. I enjoyed the feedback I received from my readers. It was a creative release I’d been searching for my entire life and I blessed the Internet for leading me to this artistic oasis for my spirit.
Love’s Magic was my very first step into writing my own characters. I will always be grateful to the slash fanfiction community for nurturing the budding author until she was ready to blossom into a fully realized novelist. It’s been an amazing thing to watch the gay community’s growth over these past twenty years. My own journey has echoed theirs in many ways, and I’m grateful to all those gay activists who fought to give the gay community the rights and privileges they always deserved. Love’s Trials, Love’s Glory, and Love’s Lawyer were the second and third, and forth books in the series and all four books are available in audio format on Audible.
I’m also grateful to the gay romance community, readers, authors, publishers and promoters, who are making these, my retirement years, the most creative ones of my life. When I’m not writing, I’m traveling, walking, hiking, knitting, crocheting, and weaving.
I’m very excited about the upcoming release of my fifth contemporary gay romance novel, Relevant Law. Those of you who fell in love with Joshua and Colin in the four previous books in this series are in for a bit of angst in this latest episode. A dark and sinister cloud hangs over the University of Virginia after three students are abducted, raped and beaten. Colin works with both campus and city police to catch the perpetrator, but his hard work and effort proves futile when Joshua turns up missing!
Despite their struggles there are still many passionate, loving moments and the friends they treasure will be there to help them find their way.
