“Who are you?” he asked, his blue eyes wide with fear.
“Tamlyn. I’m here to help you.”
He glanced at the door. “No one can help me.”
“I climbed this wall for you. We can go down together, or you can stay here and see how things turn out.”
He shook his head before she finished. “I don’t want to stay. But…”
“I know,” she said softly. “It’s scary. There’s a chance we won’t make it. But it’s a choice you alone can make.”
He lifted his chin, his slim shoulders squaring. “I’ll do it.”
“Good lad,” she said with a wink. “I’m going to get into place. I need you to climb out and onto my back. Be sure to close the window.”
He glanced down and then nodded jerkily.
“You can do this,” Tamlyn told him.
That seemed to bolster him. She flexed her fingers and hoped she would be able to maintain her grip with his added weight. Tamlyn held onto the sill and dropped down, using her arms to hold her until she got both her footholds.
“All right. Come on,” she urged.
The boy climbed out and scooted to the edge of the sill on one side of her. He closed the window behind him.
“Good,” she said with a nod. “Now, get onto my back. Use my body however you need to, but make sure you have a good hold on me. Just be careful not to choke me.”
The instant he told her that he was in place, she began climbing down. She hadn’t gotten very far when she realized that she would never be able to hold them both. Her fingers were slipping, and her arms were shaking so badly she could barely move them.
And then she lost her grip.
Air rushed past them as they plummeted to the passageway below. Just before they hit, they jerked to a stop. Somehow, they hung suspended in midair for a heartbeat before falling the last few feet. The impact jarred her, but nothing like what could’ve happened.
She sat and turned to the boy. “Was that you?”
He shrugged. “Maybe.”
“Thank you.” She jumped to her feet. “Come on. We’ve got to get out of the city.”
Those at Stonemore didn’t know who was rescuing the children, but each time she came to the city, there was something else that hadn’t been there before. This time it was the soldiers in the forest. What would be next? They would catch her eventually. Until then, she would save as many as she could.
She took the boy’s hand and turned to retrace her steps. The only way out was to go down, and that meant walking across the empty square again. She kept a tight hold of the boy while also making sure their steps were easy and casual. One of the nearby soldiers turned to look at them. He started toward them, but another soldier told him to forget them. No doubt those two would be in trouble shortly, but she couldn’t let her thoughts linger on that. By her reckoning, everyone who didn’t stop the sacrifices was complicit.

Why don’t we all close our eyes and get started,” Emmy said. Her hands were sweating. The back of her neck was sweating. She blew out a long breath and focused on the back wall of the studio. “Breathe in, hold one second, and breathe out. Again, breathe in…”

She had no idea how she got through the hour. She wished Blake had chosen an Advanced Class, just so she could put him through pigeon pose and a headstand or two. But apparently the basics of Sun Salutation were torture enough. He grunted trying to keep up. Once he stumbled and nearly took out the little girl in front of him. A sheen of sweat appeared on his brow, and in the middle of tree pose, as he was wobbling and reaching for the wall to keep from falling, Emmy could swear he cursed under his breath. She bit the inside of her cheek to keep from laughing. He narrowed his gaze at her. She narrowed hers right back.

Finally the class drew to its ritualistic end. “All right, lie back, extend your arms and legs fully, and let go. Relax your breath. This is Savasana pose, also known as corpse pose, the way we end every yoga class. It is a chance for you to let go of all your efforts and let the effects of your practice sink in.” And a chance for Emmy to gain her composure, because as much as she’d gotten a kick out of watching Blake struggle, she’d also felt a slip of desire more than once.

Those palms, spread wide on the mat, that had once wrapped around her waist.

Those legs, strong calves and thighs, that used to flex while sprinting down the college football field.

That square jaw, the dark hair, the quiet sounds of sleep she used to love to wake up next to.

Stop remembering all that.

Sure. She could stop breathing too, while she was at it.

Emmy summoned them to a seat at the end and chanted the final meditation. As they rolled up their mats and replaced their shoes, she turned on the lights and slipped a waiver onto a clipboard for Blake. Really, she didn’t want his paperwork. She didn’t even want his money. It wasn’t like fifteen dollars was going to make or break her at this point. If he had five thousand dollars he wanted to put out for the class, that would be another story, but he’d made it pretty clear the other day that he was interested in buying the whole building out from under her. For way below its market value, probably.

Goodbye, thank you, see you soon!” she called as the women walked out. She hoped one of them would stay, even if they made comments about Blake being her boyfriend, but they didn’t. It was as if Bev’s Boutique was having a fire sale they all had to get to. In less than five minutes, she and Blake were alone.

Well, that was interesting.” He rubbed his shoulder. “That was a beginners’ class?”

It was.”

Some of those women are in pretty good shape.”

They are.” Maybe if she spoke in single syllables and short sentences, he’d get the hint and leave. “Here you go.” She handed him the clipboard.

Please don’t call me that.”

He swallowed back whatever comment he’d been about to make and glanced at the clipboard instead. He filled in the lines with a few scribbles, pulled out his wallet, and handed over a ten and a five.

Thank you.”

Can we talk?”

About what? Did you have questions about the class or any of the poses?”

He gave her a look, that look, the one he used to level on her back in school when she was being deliberately unreasonable and they both knew it. “Actually, yeah. That dog one? Where we were supposed to be upside down? I don’t think I was doing it right.”

Downward Dog?” One corner of her mouth tugged. Don’t laugh at him. Don’t even smile at him. But she couldn’t help it. “You weren’t.”

I knew it.” He looked at his mat, still lying on the floor. “Can you help me?”

I’m serious. My doctor keeps telling me I need to relax. If I can learn yoga, maybe she’ll be happy. My father had already had his first heart attack at my age.”

Fine. Come over here.” She unrolled her own mat and laid it a few inches from his. “Now watch.” She balanced herself on her hands and feet, straightening her legs and stretching deeply into the pose. She loved Downward Dog. It made her feel grounded and secure, even when nothing else in her life did. “See how my back and my arms are straight? And my head is down?”

He ran one hand along her spine. “Yes.”

She dropped to her knees. “Hey.”

Sorry. I couldn’t help it.”

She looked up at him, and there was another look she knew, a look she’d seen a thousand times before. Want. Love. Or something like it. “Don’t look at me like that.”

Like what?”

Like you’re about to kiss me.”

An eternal moment hung between them, and then Blake leaned over and did just that.

Tripp Unleashed

Tripp Unleashed

by Darren Simon

Genre: Middle-Grade Fantasy

Tripp Taylor is a teenager trying to hide his genetic disorder and live a normal life, but that’s hard to do when the smallest morsel of food and the tiniest sip of liquid bring about a change in him—a metamorphosis he cannot control, making him a danger to himself and those around him. At least that’s what he’s been told by his father and the doctor who has devoted his life to finding a cure.

By day, Tripp plays by their rules. By night, Tripp journeys through the city from one convenience store to the next to taste real food (frozen burritos are his favorite). Then comes the night when he chooses the wrong convenience store, for on that night an armed robber enters the store and threatens everyone’s life. From that first transformation come others, and soon Tripp finds himself on a collision course with destiny as a madman pushes him to use his powers, a government that fears him tries to control him, and dark secrets lead him down a dangerous path—one that could make him a hero or twist him into a monster. And that all depends on whether he survives, and the odds aren’t in his favor.

The V-Card Diaries Series by Lili Valente

Releasing March 1

Begging my brother’s best friend—aka NHL superstar, Ian Fox—to help me ditch my V Card wasn’t part of my “make it big in NYC” plans.

But after years of being “cute little Evie,” I’m tired of waiting for Mr. Right. I’m ready for Mr. Right Now, and Ian is everything I’ve ever wanted in a first time. He’s kind, funny, confident, and has a legendary…stick.

Seriously, his stick has its own page of search results, complete with gray sweatpants shots hot enough to make even a clueless virgin drool.

And yes, my brother will murder us if he finds out, but we’re both grownups.

We can keep a secret. We have to since I just landed an art therapy job working with his troubled team.

All we’re doing is a little practice. (Or…ehembig practice.)

Too bad my heart didn’t get the memo.

“No good comes from insomnia scrolling or reading articles about sugar.” I head into the kitchen, fetching the stepladder from beside the fridge.
“And what about withholding funny texts from one of your best friends?” Jess tosses casually over her shoulder. “Any good come from that?”
“It was nothing,” I say, collecting the small Tupperware container from under the pile of empty coffee bags we’re collecting to earn a free sock cap. “Just a goofy thing. Not worth sharing.”
She hums thoughtfully. “Right. And I wasn’t secretly hoping to be teacher’s pet and get Ian’s monster cock to sledgehammer through my V-card.”
I tumble off the stepladder in surprise, sending the cookies flying as I reach out to catch myself on the lower cabinets before I crush my tailbone on the tile.
“You okay?” Jess calls out.
“I’m fine,” I say, my heart still racing.
“And the cookies?”
I glance over to see the Tupperware container still closed though it has rolled halfway into Cam’s giant tennis shoe. “Also fine, but what are you… How did you…”
“Nothing gets past me,” Jess says. “You should know that by now. I appear to see nothing, but I see all. Like the Eye of Sauron.”

Releasing April 19

My best friend’s older brother excels at many things—being a bossy grump, a jerk, and…this hopeless virgin’s fake fiancé?

I need a guy who understands that this is all pretend, and who better than a man who can’t stand me—and vice versa? Besides, Derrick is the kind of cocky, confident, successful dude bro my gram will adore.

We’ll convince my ailing grandmother I’m not going to die alone, Derrick will honor that favor he owes me, and we’ll part ways as enemies with NO benefits.

It’s a rock-solid plan…until it isn’t.
Turns out I may have made a slight miscalculation.

Now Derrick is charming my family, sweeping me off my feet, and making me want crazy things.

Suddenly, I think I might actually want him to be my first and maybe…my only?

Yeah, I’m screwed.
So bleeping screwed.

Releasing June 7

Last night I made out with a gorgeous, funny, quirky older woman. Today I learned she’s the new executive chef at my restaurant. AKA my new boss.

Yep, that’s the hot mess I’m in at the moment.
But the chemistry between Beth and me is even hotter.
The problem? She’s a single mom focused on helping her little girl adjust to life in the big city. Dating right now—especially a co-worker—is asking for trouble.
So, what’s my next move? Seduce the hell out of the woman, of course.

I may still technically be hanging onto my V Card, but I know how to drive a woman wild in bed.
Even more importantly, I know I’m the kind of man Beth’s looking for. I love hard, keep my promises, and I’ll put her and her daughter first.

And then I learn the real reason she’s been holding me at a distance…

Most men would be scared away. Me?
I’m even more determined to prove I can make this wounded woman’s dreams come true.

Releasing July 26

Eight years ago, Sam Baxter and I were best friends and the goofiest computer nerds to matriculate from our swanky high school.

We also made a pact to meet up and get busy if one or both of us were still virgins by our twenty-fourth birthdays.

I assumed that was a silly pinky swear we’d both forgotten about until Sam shows up at my twenty-fourth birthday party. He no longer needs a V-Card puncher, but he’s ready and willing to help me out.

Boy is he ready…

Gone is the lanky kid with glasses who made me snort-laugh when we played video games. In his place is a sex god with massive biceps, designer clothes, and a smolder that transforms women to quivering puddles of lust.

I’m out of my league with this new Sam.
But I’m also every bit as drawn to him as I used to be.

So, when he dares me to give him three dates to prove he can be trusted to rock my world, I agree. What do I have to lose aside from my V Card?

Oh, right. My heart…

Asher stood beneath a long-needle pine. When I paused, he strode forward, letting the moonlight touch his gorgeous features. He cupped my face with his warm hands.

Likes him, my wolf sighed.

“Missed you,” he whispered.

“You, too.” My heart rate picked up to double time.

His lips captured mine, softly at first, then harder and with growing need.

I wasn’t sure where this was going between us, but I did know one thing. Cats might rule and wolves might drool, but Asher was my catnip. Whenever he touched me, I purred.

“Jeez,” Shorty groused through the screen door of the food truck behind me. “Don’t be doin ’any of that crap so close to my truck. Go on with you. Take a walk on the beach or something. Kids.”

Pulling away from Asher, I snorted out a laugh. I gazed up into his warm brown eyes that sparkled solely for me and held out my hand.

“Take a walk with me, Ash?” I asked coyly. He told me I was the only one who could call him Ash.

He took my hand and tugged me close, wrapping his arm around my waist and holding me against his warm frame.

Likes, my wolf sighed again. Likes him lots.

Asher guided me around the truck, across the sidewalk, and out onto the sand.

During the day, crowds of humans mobbed Old Orchard Beach. Once the sun had set and the tourists headed to their rented condos and hotels, the locals could breathe a sigh of relief and enjoy the quiet. And late at night, especially when the moon bathed the sky with her milky gaze, wolves like me and Ash could run.

I kicked off my shoes and shimmied out of my jeans and long-sleeve shirt—I wisely wore thin shorts and a tank underneath.

Asher watched, his smoldering eyes tracing my every curve as I moved. We’d come close to going all the way but hadn’t done it yet. I wasn’t sure why I resisted. He made it clear he wanted to. The heat simmering in my veins told me I did too. I guess I wanted to wait. We’d only known each other for a few months.

He had to leave for college soon, but he said he’d come back for each of his breaks. We had plenty of time to do things then.

“Shift?” he asked.

Yesss, my wolf sighed. She rose and stomped her paws, eager.

The first time I shifted, it felt like my skin turned itself inside out, ripping muscles, tendons, and breaking my bones to morph five-four, skinny old me into a gorgeous white wolf with steel gray tufts on her ears and the tip of her tail.

Go for it, babe, I told my wolf, stepping back in my mind.

She leaped forward, jumping into my skin.

Ash joined us, and I could feel his grin as our wolves touched noses then rubbed necks.

Likes so much, she said. She gave him a wolfy grin and raced toward the water, charging a wave and yipping with joy. He followed, only a bit more sedate.

When she kicked up her feet and ran through the shallows, he kept pace, nipping at her ruff and huffing with pleasure.

They ran for what felt like forever, and it recharged my soul. Shifting might turn me inside out, but it put me back together again after, making me brand new.

My wolf flopped on the sand and rolled, shimmying her back to scratch an itch. Asher’s wolf stood nearby, watchful. As protective as Ash.

Time’s up, I finally said. She’d run and play with him all night long if I let her. I wanted to, but Ash would leave for college in three days, and I needed to be with him more than I wanted to breathe.

We morphed back.

Ash gathered me into his arms. His kiss drank me in as the final push settled, turning me back into what I was before. My wolf changing back to me. His wolf into him. Us.

I moaned, pressing myself fully against him.

We eased apart, and he took my hands with that special gleam in his eyes he shared solely with me.

Things couldn’t get any better than this. Sometimes, I dreamed we were fated.

A feeling I couldn’t define sped across my skin, leaving goosebumps behind. I told myself it was nothing. The wind with a hint of the crispness of fall. A bit of stray magic lingering in the air.

It couldn’t be us.

Nothing would come between me and Ash.

He laid her on the bed, setting her ass on the edge and then kneeling, placing each of her legs on either side of his head. Breathing in the scent of her renewed and previously satiated arousal, he licked his lips and heard her catch her breath. Leaning in, he stroked her with his tongue, licking her from the opening to her wet heat up to her clit, where he circled it and then licked back down.

He looked up. “As you don’t have a safeword…”

“I came up with one—Abracadabra. Trust me, it isn’t a word I ever use, despite what all the books, movies and television series would have you think.”

He chuckled. “Abracadabra. I like it. I’ll try not to make you use it, but if you do, we’ll take a break and talk about it. So unless I hear it, I’m just going to assume you’re comfortable with whatever I’m doing.”

Lowering his head to her sex, he sucked each of her labia into his mouth before spearing her with his tongue. Saoirse arched her back in response as opposed to demand and he licked up all of the cream that remained from her previous climax in his office. As he licked her, he could feel her softening all over again—her pussy readying itself for his use… and use it he would. Come tomorrow morning, she would be sore from the number of times he’d fucked her throughout the night. He’d been waiting for some signal from her that she was interested, and he’d finally received it.

Spense brought his mouth down and enveloped her clit with it, latching on as he pushed a finger inside her pussy. He opened his eyes to look up to see her watching him intently. He held her eyes as he suckled, strengthening their connection and preventing her from raising any walls between them.

Saoirse chewed on her lower lip, trying to hold back not just the physical feeling but the emotional bond that was building. Finally she flung her head back and moaned as her hands reached for his head. She couldn’t keep still as his tongue and finger worked in perfect rhythm to send her over the edge into another climax that seemed to engulf her entire body as it tightened and then released with a sigh.

Spense rolled back onto his feet and stood, lifting her into the center of the bed and removing his clothes without ever losing eye contact. When he was naked, she opened her arms and welcomed him into her bed.

His body had never felt so alive—not inside the books or since he’d escaped. He now understood in a way he hadn’t allowed himself to what Roark, Holmes and even Watson had come to know and cherish. This woman was his and he would do everything in his power to ensure she never wanted to be anything else. Looking at her watching him, her eyes widening and then smiling appreciatively at the sight of his fully erect cock. He sent a silent thanks to Sage that she had ensured that all of the men in her books were well hung.

Kneeling on the bed, he reached for her and lay down beside her, kissing her deeply and allowing her to taste herself on his tongue. Spense rolled on top of her, easily parting her thighs and making a place for himself. The heat of her pussy called to his cock in a way that he’d never known before. He lowered himself, letting her bear all of his weight as his cock honed in on its target. He captured her mouth, plunging his tongue deep inside hers as he surged forward, entering and filling her with one long, hard push.

Saoirse’s legs tightened and she arched her back as her arms came up to encircle him and her legs intertwined with his. She writhed beneath him as he began to stroke inside her, dragging himself back before plunging in again. Her pussy tried to keep his cock in place, and he smiled as he kissed her.

Spense reached under her and grasped the globes of her ass—holding and steadying her so he could plunder her pussy at will. God, she was tight and wet and fabulous. Nothing and no one had ever felt this good. The ache in his soul that he had known from his first moment of sentience was healed by the way she held him and kissed him with wild abandoned. This was no quiet little sub. This was his wildly passionate Saoirse. He doubted she’d settle in like Rachel or Sage. No the dance for dominance would always be there and he found himself looking forward to it.

He gripped her tighter as he began to pound into her. Her nails raked his back, and she cried his name as she came, her pussy clamping down on his length and he continued to thrust in and out of her. There would come a time he would have her on her knees in front of him, her upper torso lowered onto the mattress, but this first time he wanted the intimacy that only face-to-face could offer. He didn’t just want to focus on how good her wet heat felt as it contracted around his dick, he wanted to be kissing her, feeling her nails scoring his flesh.

Her body responded so beautifully to his possession. He reveled in being with her, inside her, pleasuring her. Over and over he fucked in and then out, only to drive back into her. He wanted to learn every sigh, every moan, every scream. Her pussy seemed made for him and her body fit his as though Sage had written her to be his perfect partner.

“Spenser,” she cried with wild abandon.

“I’ve got you, Saoirse. I’ve got you.”

She was wild and wanton; sweet and sensual. She was everything he’d ever wanted and all those things he hadn’t known he wanted.

Her body tightened around him again and he let loose his own primal being, giving over to his own lust. He slammed into her again and again, all finesse forgotten as he gloried in being inside her and provoking her own primitive response. Saoirse’s body bowed as she all but howled in pleasure, giving him license to ravage her pussy like a man long denied. He drove into her a final time, holding himself hard against her as he flooded her pussy with his cum.

When the storm had passed, he lay atop her softness while she stroked his back and nuzzled his neck.

“That was… I don’t even have words for what that was,” she breathed.

Neither did he as he rolled from her body and pulled her close. “Perfection. Ecstasy. Absolute bliss.”

Because of the Dark by Danah Logan

Title: Because of the Dark
Series: The Dark Series #4
Author: Danah Logan
Genre: New Adult Contemporary
Romantic Suspense
Release Date: February 15, 2022

The dark didn’t end with the light. He lost his future. She fights to survive. More secrets, more betrayal, and a love that was meant to fail before it even began.

My name is Weston, but my friends call me Wes.
Though, I don’t have many left.
Two years ago, I lost my dream. My future.

My best friend’s sister stumbled across a secret she had no idea existed—her secret.
Friendships were betrayed. Unexpected alliances were formed.
My loyalty was tested, but I blindly stood by their side.

What I didn’t realize was that following them into the dark would cost me everything. My friends. My scholarship.

I was driven by anger and resentment toward the people I had once trusted with my life.

Until I met her: King.

My name is Kingsley Monroe.
At least, that’s the name I go by these days.
I didn’t plan this. I wasn’t supposed to stay. Keep moving, he ordered. Then, one fateful afternoon changed the course of my future. I ran into him: Weston Sheats—literally.

I stayed in the shadows for over a year. Eventually, my need for him to notice me made me step out of the dark. I wanted him to see me once. I swore I wouldn’t let him get close, I would not get attached. I failed.
I fell—hard.

An unexpected turn of events was the wake-up call I needed. I had to tell him, come clean. But would he accept my past? Who I am, and what I did?
Realizing there was no future, I did what I was supposed to do months ago…and I took the one thing with me that could’ve made a difference for both of us.

** Author’s note:

My Harley Street Bob vibrates under me as I wait for the light to turn. I’m still in disbelief about how Kai finished the entire bottle of Patrón and was still standing upright when I walked through the door of our shared townhouse. The guy has a capacity for liquor I’ve never seen before and is still fully functional. But of course, I’m stuck replacing it once we run out. Allowing him behind the wheel of his Rover—functioning or not—is not something I can do with a good conscience. Thankfully, this task has become easier since June, when I turned twenty-one, and I no longer have to rely on a fake ID or bribes.
The red finally switches to green, and I’m moving again. Two more blocks until The Moose’s Head. After almost twenty-four long-ass (and most of them cold as fuck) months, I’m still dumbstruck by the names of bars, restaurants, or local shops. You’d think just because we’re in the Treasure State, surrounded by mountains and wildlife, we’d still have something like Whole Foods or Binney’s. No, we have The Farmer and The Moose’s Head—TMH for the locals.
Turning off the ignition in front of the liquor store, I take in the decked-out Jeep MOAB next to me. The car screams badass. Matte black, five-percent tint all-around black rims, light bar, chrome tube steps—that’s what I call a sweet ride.
I take a step toward the double doors when a familiar ping sounds in my wireless headphones.
“Message from Rhys McGuire.”
Fuck me. As if my day isn’t already bad enough.
“Wes, bro, you can’t avoid us forever. It’s been two years. We know you got the invitation. Calla misses you. Call us,” the robotic female voice reads me the text from my former best friend.
You bet your rich ass I can keep avoiding you.
They’re the reason my life turned into this dumpster fire. I don’t bother pulling out my phone. Seeing the words will only result in me sending it flying, and I can’t afford a new one. Instead, I walk into The Moose’s Head and veer toward the aisle with the hard stuff.
After this, I really need to replenish our stash. Thank fuck I brought the hiking backpack. That way, I can load up triple time.
Getting everything I need, I add a pack of Big League Chew to my liquid purchase—never heard of that shit until arriving in Podunk, Montana, but it’s addicting, and now I buy it whenever I come here.
I head back to my bike, bottles clinking together on my back despite the layers of paper bags I ordered the flannel-clad clerk to wrap around them. My gaze sweeps over the Jeep. After the text, I forgot all about it.
I wonder who owns this baby.

I’m standing at the light right off of TMH’s parking lot, waiting for it to turn, when I see the Jeep pull out of its spot in my side mirror.
Weird. I didn’t notice anyone leaving the store behind me.
“Radioactive” by Bullet For My Valentine blares through my headphones as I drive down 19th to our house on the south side, near the university. I approach another intersection just as it turns red, and I slow the bike down. Almost stopped, I glance in the mirror and spot the Jeep speeding toward me.
What the—?
I’m about to abandon my Harley to save my ass when the driver hits the brakes and brings the car to a standstill about a foot from my rear tire, leaving skid marks on the asphalt.
Adrenaline is pulsating through my body, and my hands tighten around the handlebar. This dude is asking for it. Still riled up from the text, I wouldn’t mind planting my fist in someone’s face. I’m about to get off my bike to march toward the MOAB when the light switches and the jerk beeps at me.
Lucky motherfucker.
I’ve never been a hothead. Rhys used to be the one who tended to lose his temper in our friendship. Not that I was a pussy; I simply didn’t have the desire to pick a fight. I was the jokester—the person no one took seriously—until everything was ripped from under me. The day I punched my best friend across the face…that was when I changed.
The Jeep drives behind me with less than the mandated safety distance, and I clench my jaw.
Give me a reason, fuckface.
I switch lanes as I approach Bear Court, where I have to turn left—yup, even the streets have ridiculous names here. The dick navigating the Jeep follows suit and comes even closer. Fast.
At the last moment, the Jeep moves back into the right lane and halts next to me. The light turns green, but neither of us moves. I glower at the blacked-out driver’s side through my visor—equally tinted—when the window suddenly lowers about halfway. My heart stutters when a girl with wavy, dark-blonde hair comes into view. Wayfarers cover half of her face that’s visible, and despite not seeing her eyes, I can feel her gaze on me. Somehow, I know that she is stunningly beautiful. My body is instantly buzzing with…recognition?
Have I seen her before?
I hold my breath as something in her expression changes. She is smirking. The crinkle around her eyes is noticeable, even though most of her face is hidden from me. Lifting a hand, MOAB Girl salutes and takes off with screeching tires.
Stunned, I remain at the intersection until I can no longer see her lights down the road.
I have no idea what just happened, but the thudding beat of my heart tells me that it was the most exciting thing since exiting the plane two years ago.

OMG – ALL THE YES!! This book had every single thing I needed in my life right now. I haven’t read anything written by Danah Logan before but I will definitely be picking up the rest of her books ASAP. Because Of The Dark is book four in her Dark series but can 100% be read as a stand alone too. Going in pretty blindly and not knowing any backstory for these characters didn’t make this hard to follow and I was easily pulled into the story. If anything it has me even more intrigued to circle back and read the first three books! I loved the spark between Wes and K. Unraveling their love story was something that will give you all the feelings. Something that I absolutely am over the moon in love with is when the author makes you fall in love with secondary characters and Logan did a phenomenal job of giving life to so many of them in this book (cannot wait for more Marcus 🔥🙌🏻). SO MANY of them I just want more from so I am crossing all my fingers that we are far from done in this world of hers. After just reading one book by Danah Logan it’s safe to say she is now an author on my must read list! – @jennsbookvibes on IG

Born and raised in Germany, Danah moved to the U.S. and eventually traded downtown Chicago’s city life for the northern Rockies.

From a young age, she has always had “voices” in her head. She wrote short stories in high school; however, she eventually stopped as life got busier.

Talking about said “voices,” one day, a friend suggested giving it another try–even if it was just for the fun of it. Until that point, her focus was on raising her two-year-old twins, and she had never thought about writing again. But, she dug through old backup CDs (yes, people still have those) and found the original version of one of her short stories.

About forty thousand words in, she realized there is no way to tell it in just one book, and that’s when her first book series was born.

With many more plots in her head, this writing gig has become Danah’s passion, and she spends every free minute in front of her laptop, letting the voices out.
