Excerpt

I groan awake and look around at my surroundings. I’m in my bed in my room. I can’t seem to remember how I got here. I turn to my left and find Nico sleeping next to me. I jolt up in panic.

What is he doing here? The last thing I remember is watching The Notebook.

I must have fallen asleep. But that doesn’t explain how I’m in bed with Nico.

I look down and thankfully I am still wearing my clothes. Nico on the other hand is naked from the chest up at least. I don’t want to know about his bottom half.

I look around the room and find his clothes tossed on the chair in the corner.

I gently poke Nico to try and wake him up. He doesn’t move. I poke again but harder. Again, he doesn’t move. I ball my hand into a fist ready to come down on his shoulder as hard as I can when he grabs my wrist at lightning speed.

Nico opens one eye. “That’s not very nice.”

I try and pull my wrist free from him, but he yanks me forward towards him. I land face first on his chest.

I feel his body vibrate underneath me as he laughs. I on the other hand do not find this amusing at all. My heart is thundering in my chest and my face feels hot to the touch.

I place my hand on his chest to pull myself up and glare up at him. “Why are we in bed together?”

“You fell asleep, and it was late, so I just decided to spend the night here,” he says with such nonchalance.

“That doesn’t explain you in my bed. You could have slept on the floor.”

“Why would I sleep on the floor when there is a perfectly fine spot in the bed right here?”

“My bed.”

Nico smirks. “Are you afraid something might happen between the two of us?”

I widen my eyes in shock at his suggestion and quickly rip away from him and out of the bed. “No more sleeping in my bed.”

Nico gets into a sitting position. “Okay, then what should we do if not sleep in the bed?”

If I thought my eyes couldn’t get wider, I was wrong. I point my finger at him. “None of that either!”

Nico laughs and raises his hand in surrender. “Calm down, I was just kidding. So, what should we have for breakfast?”

“Breakfast?”

Nico swings his legs out of bed. “Do you want to eat in or go out?”

When did we decide we would be having breakfast together? What is going on?

I am just about to tell him I’m not interested in having breakfast when my stomach growls. Nico smiles at me. “I guess we can eat out since it would be faster.”

Nico gets out of bed and I notice he is wearing nothing but briefs!

Nico stretches before saying, “I’m going to take a quick shower if that’s okay.” I don’t say anything as I’m completely lost for words. He takes my silence as agreement and walks into the bathroom.

As soon as the door locks, I go into panic mode. If Ronan finds out, I’m good as dead. I shouldn’t have even let Nico in last night.

Nico comes out of the shower a few minutes later with only a towel wrapped around his waist. He is all bronze and muscle. My mouth waters at the thought of touching his six pack.

I can feel my face warming up as I continue to gawk. “I need to get ready,” I stumble out. I run past Nico and into the bathroom.

Once I have locked the door, I slump against it. What am I doing? I am clearly out of my mind.
