In eastern Kentucky, Miranda Trent runs a unique tour company called Paint & Shine, but sometimes the peaceful mountains play host to murder . . .
Miranda’s business—combining Appalachian adventure tours with art and a bit of moonshine—is the perfect place for an outdoor sporting goods company to hold an employee retreat. It’ll be a challenge, but the money they’re paying will definitely help with building her new distillery.
Miranda has lots of teamwork-fostering activities planned, from sketching classes to Southern cooking, but the executive running things prefers a more competitive spirit. In fact, after the workers are split into teams, they’re told that only the winners will keep their jobs, and tensions begin to spike. Even after a participant is found dead, the contest continues—while Miranda starts drawing her own conclusions about the ambitious attendees. Now she just has to find the proof . . .
Cheryl Hollon now writes full-time after she left an engineering career designing and building military flight simulators in amazing countries such as England, Wales, Australia, Singapore, Taiwan, and India. Life has a funny way of pulling you in when you least expect it. It’s been a few years since I was back at The Perished Riders MC clubhouse, and fuck, it’s damn near the same. I don’t know what I thought would happen in my time away. I left because my dad was stuck in the past, unable to move the club forward into the present day, so it shouldn’t be surprising that the hell hole hasn’t changed since I was a kid.
It’s also no surprise that now the miserable bastard is dead, there’s not much left to salvage.
But I’ve stepped up, just like my brothers wanted me to, and I’m making changes. I’m gonna run this place straight, the way it should have been ran all those years ago.
But the dead have a funny way of leaving a legacy, and it ain’t always good. Eagle’s presence lingers like a fucking bad smell, and everywhere I turn, there’s another mess he left behind.
The road is calling me, and I’m beginning to think the club ain’t worth it, but then life throws me a curveball in the form of Rylee Carter.
Do you ever wonder when your life became this? Wake, eat, sleep, repeat . . . oh, and don’t forget to throw in the odd beating. Marrying Grant Carter was not my finest moment, nor was becoming his prisoner. Slowly, he made me dependent solely on him, and now, I’m stuck here. Wake, eat, sleep, repeat.
It’s by chance that my new neighbour hears my cries calling to her from the pits of my own hell. Instead of ignoring me, she sends me a lifeline. One I grasp with both hands.
Being rescued by The Perished Riders MC was just the beginning of my journey.
Since Maverick came into my life, things aren’t so mundane. He shows me just how strong I can be, and with him by my side, suddenly, everything seems possible.

A Wonderful Companion for Your Hectic Life and a Modern Safety Shield in a Dangerous World.
Like our daily coffee and tea, I try to keep the two daily sayings and their reflections short and sweet. This book is designed simply to give us a quick spiritual boost as we try to run from one task to another on our “hectic day”. Although the short-term goal of this book is to help us get through “a hectic day” with joy and purpose, its long-term focus is to fine tune our characters and make us better people at home, at work, at worshipping place, in the neighborhood, and in other places. This world would be like Heaven if there is less fighting, arguing, and killing. We cannot get our cup of coffee, latte, or tea these days without worrying that a crazy lunatic would come in with a deadly weapon to gun us down like an animal or a bomb to blow us up. We certainly cannot enjoy anything in a world like that. This situation needs to be stopped and it begins with us. We need to talk and act differently than what we see on the news or witness in our world every day. When we can do that, we help change the world one person at the time and others hopefully will follow our example. This transformation will not only make our world a better place but also make us feel much better about ourselves.
The Covid-19 pandemic also has affected us all in every way – young and old, weak and strong, women and men. Many of us have lost a family member or friend to this virus, or known someone who has experienced this loss. A self-help book like this will give you the tools and daily exercises that can create the right condition for your body and spirit to restore itself with the divine help.
Kites rise highest against the wind, not with it. (Winston Churchill) (1001 Quotes, pg 13)
Inspiring Morning Mojo: We love to fly high like a kite and enjoy much success in our lives. But, great success comes when we dare to buck the trend and go against the current. Today I am willing to go against the typical ways and do something different to achieve great result.
The more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied and spread. (Exodus 1:12) (Bible Quotations, pg 7)
Words of Encouragement: The enemies tried to oppress God’s people and hoped to exterminate them. But, they multiplied and grew stronger. Likewise, a long, hectic day might try to scare and discourage me. But, I will work harder and dream bigger with a new day.

I was the trick that they could never play.
She was the greatest game of all…
There was elegance that comes from being carved from the ashes of all the darkness that surrounds you in the world. You start as dust, and you end as dust. At least that’s what I always thought. Crowned Princess Mayhem all my life became old fast, and I found myself forging my iron crown with the blood of our enemies.
To The Brothers of Kiznitch, I was nothing but a little brat that always got my way. I was the sister none of them asked for, but they’d find themselves needing. He was no different. Loving Keaton Cicero was never going to be easy. There was evil within him that would never be accepted.
They thought their over-protectiveness had kept me safe all these years, but they were wrong. Everything they thought they knew, was about to burn around them. I wasn’t someone who needed protecting…
